For the Boxing Corporate commercial, I got it playing 2 Player ( I think I remember properly lol), so I think beating any opponent by a set # of points is a possibility as well.

@jason I beat Tennis by cheating with the angles too, just serve to the right, he hits it back, you angle it way to the left, he can't get to it in time. When he's serving, just angle it whenever you can.

Back from the dead for those of us who are treating them selves to an early xmas pres. :)
I'm normally super critical of retro comps because in the past they've been too much "throw some old games together and let's make easy money." This one I think did it right, and I hope this is the yardstick by which other companies will complile their future comps.
The front end I was a little worried about. Looked a little gimmiky to me, but I'm pleased to say it's really good. Here's a tip I didn't see anyone mention yet. Did you know that when you're looking at the box or cart you can rotate it with the right stick and zoom in and out on the box using the L1 and R1 buttons? Maybe it says that in the manual, I don't have time to read that. :)
I've already noticed a missing sound. The horse in Stampede doesn't make a sound when you hit something! Boooo!!!! Still the emulation is leagues better than the PSX volume, so I can forgive a minor thing or two.
I'm hoping that there will be a cheat code to fill the empty game slots. Since these were supposed to be on line accessable, I'm guessing they're in there and you d/l'ed the code to unlock them. Maybe I'm wrong tho. I'd be nice.
This:
I want to see an ATARI ANTHOLOGY with Combat, Circus, Breakout, Space Invaders, Berzerk, Defender 1/2, Yar's Revenge, Phoenix, Asteroids, Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Star Raiders, Crystal Castles, and so on.
Mayhaps Activision can dig out these old ATARI classics, produce them for PS2 and split the profit 50/50 with Hasbro?
is an interesting thought. Some of those Atari games appeared in the last volume of Activision classice for PC so maybe they have the rights. A lot of those you mentioned were licensed arcade games though that are now owned by other people than the people who own the rights to the 2600 stuff. I'm sure there'd be licensing headaches all around (like the reason Double Dragon, Rampange and Ghostbusters were left off this disc.)
I wish there were more Imagic games here and I hope we'll see more comps like this in the future. Though I normally shy away from buying games new, this is only $30 and I see a purchase as a vote of support for quality retrocomps like this in the future.
I hope Midway is taking note and gives us something compirable for the ineviatable repackaging for their classics.
EDIT: Capt is sleep deprived today and apparently can not see things that are right on the cover of the game. LOL Edited to remove foolish comments concerning the word Atari. Oops!

More updates re: unlockables.
I've got the day off today, so I figured I'd tackle Laser Blast (and the 1,000,000 patch).
You get it after only 100,000 points. Yup. Took about 30 minutes. I'm kinda glad because 3 hours worth would've been tough.
The 3rd unlockable you can get by playing game 4. I played it once and scored 920 points and got the commercial. Played it a second time (this time with no memory card), scored zero points, and still got the unlockable.
(BTW: The first patch is listed at 10,000 and that is correct).
I also noticed that to get the Space Shuttle patch you can just "Play" game one. And to get the Private Eye patch you only have to start game 3, not actually complete it.
Let's keep updating the list!!!

Good idea Nature Boy. I started a new post for the requirements list. I cut and pasted the list DP got from Ken Love as a start. If anyone finds more stuff, post it in the Official Activision Anthology Unlock Requirements Post and I'll keep it updated.
Now that I've spent some more time with this, I'm finding a lot of missing, different, or glitchy sounds. Example: Pitfall, no sound when you hit a barrel, sometimes when you jump the sounds stutters. Little things, but I'm a sounds guy, so I notice these things.
The extra playmodes are totally worthless. Feels like filler to me. I can't see anyone actually using these beyond checking them out once and saying "huh, that's dumb."
Plus, I had to exchange my disc because it was locking up during the Corporate Commercial. Grr...so far I have not had good luck with PS2 software. Maybe it's just my machine.
The commercials are excellent! Actually that's what sold me on this. I love watching this stuff and since I own almost all these games, that's the deal sealer IMHO.
I still think this is an excellent comp. Because I'm so familiar with these games, it's hard not to be nit-picky about little things.

Actually I just got the commerical for laser Blast playing one game and getting 300 points. The others I ended up getting as I played or accidently not relaizing it till I saw the lists.
