there was manga and OVA based on the manga about cyborg heroin...
the title escaped my memory but the unique thing about our heroin is every time she transformed unlike other super heroes with fancy/funky costume she bares all. yep! her cloth will shredded and our heroin will be butt naked except mask, glove and pre-requisite high heel boot... ;p

love to see game based on this one... heh

other than that I'd love to see one based on Miyazaki's Totoro...

While FLCL rocks, a game would be stupid. That show makes so little sense, and has about this | | much space to add anything at all.

Gatchaman AKA Battle of the Planets

I know there have been some, but a modern Spiderman2, or GTA3 style one could be very cool.

I've always wanted to smash the glass door off the missile fire button! And go Fiery Phoenix!!

While I also like FLCL, making a game for it would be a strange affair indeed. It would have to try to live up to the wackiness of the OVA, while sorta' making some sense. The only real thing I can come up with would be a game to go right along the story maybe having minigames. It would be hard to make it one genre of game, that's for sure.

Overall, I gotta' put a big ol' VETO stamp on using FLCL as a game.

I agree. A FLCL video game would be stupid. Especially GTA style...?

Detective Conan game would be AWESOME!

There's also a Lupin game for the SNES... It's ok...

There's a Bebop game coming out soon and it looks sweet.

They need to make a Tenchi RPG and release it in English.

I would love to see an Evangelion game that is as good as the series. That series is damn near perfect! A Ninja Scroll game would be cool as hell too if they could do it right.

I would love a Trigun game! :)

I know there was a PS Cowboy Bebop game, but it wasn't supposed to be very good. And I've seen a trailer for a PS2 Bebop game, but I don't really know any other information about it.

I'd also like a Saint Seiya game. I've played one of the Famicom games and the GB one. GB one wasn't too bad, but the Famicom one wasn't very good. I'd love for an RPG Seiya game for the cube! 8-)

While I admit its an old series, I wouldnt mind a game for Please Save my Earth. If the series was still popular in Japan, it probly would be something simular in play style to Saikono(only read descriptions on the saikano game) on the PS2. High in story, short on action. I doubt it would ever be brought out in the states or europe though.

Most of the series I want games for actualy do have games out for them. In Japan. As a non-Japanese speaking gamer, I find it hard to import something I wont fully understand. I mostly want the games to be brought out. Initial D would be nice. Sega even had a hand in atleast 1 of the games for that series.

Actually FLCL makes perfect sense...personnally i like anime that makes you think. I'd love a FLCL game. Screw anything that is GTA style though. I hate GTA. I'd also like to see a Ghost in the Shell game.

I would love to see a Miami Guns game. Stick it in a GTA environment with bonuses for playing in a style that matches the personalities of Yao and Lu respectively, and have lots of over the top comical violence :)

I'd also love to have a good Macross game released in the US where you can use the characters from the anime!

I would most like to see DNA ^2, it would be fun to be the Mega Playboy, or perhaps play as Ami and earn your, "Sweet sweet home!"

Other anime's that would be good for games: Fushigi Yuugi, I havn't checked this may already be a game, if not I would envision that it could be a game like Magic Knights Rayearth. The Vision of Escaflowne would be cool, I love that art dirrection of this, a different spin on "generic gundam mech anime." Excel saga could be fun, perhaps with the Ilpalazzo (I think thats his name the head of ACROSS) mini dating game, in any event the game could be hillarious. I too would like to see the FLCL game, the firestarter wonderswan looking like game could be an interesting component. Finally, I wonder if Lain serial experiments would make a good game, I could see the basic structure as being something similiar to dot.hack.

Speed Racer! I know there's a couple already, but there aren't enough. And I'm still waiting for the Challenge of Racer X on Genesis that never came out! I have a ZIP of the PC version of it now, but it's a DOS game, and I have XP, so you all know what that means, I can still forget ever being able to play it. So I have Most Dangerous Adventures on SNES, and Speed Racer on PSX, but that's all. And I want another one, with cel shaded graphics, like Auto Modelista on PS2! A new Speed Racer game would kick major ass if they did it that way. Set it up like Initial D, where you have to race members of rival gangs, but use all the classic Speed Racer characters, like Racer X and Snake Oiler. There's more than enough rival racers to make a game like that of it!

The best anime to game would be... AKIRA
but it would have to be in a rpg/ racer style and there could only be one game.

Otherwise it we definitly have be golden boy or those who hunt elves.
whats better in a game than stripping evles in a fighting style type of game or trying to get laid in learning adventure that is nothin but pure comedy.

I wish they'd bring over Boubobo both DVD and translated games into english. I think the US would LOVE it. It's way more random and funny than either FLCL or Excel Saga.

I'm still waiting for a decent Ranma game, at least one that gets translated well. Ranma RPG is awesome but... I want something official.

Bobobo= insanely funny. I know there are some GBA games based on it, anyone know what they play like and if they're import friendly?

Oh, and I can't be the only one who thinks the Guyver would make a tottaly kick ass 2D fighter or Beat em up. :D

Out of the anime i watch i'd say the only one that'd get a VG nod would be

Burn Up Excess (Beat em up)

I'd 2nd an "Excel Saga" nomination but i'm not really sure how that would translate well into any type of game......except a dating sim :P

And i think it should be titled:

Oh Miss Ayasugi!

And every third choice on the screen should be "Put it in"

Azumanga Daioh Sierra-On-Line Style Adventure RPG:

"A day in the Life of Osaka"
"Chiyo-Chan loses a book"
"Sakaki enters a contest to win a lifetime supply of Plushies"
"Kaorin enters a contest to win.. Sakaki"
"Tomo enters everything"
"Yomi avoids Tomo"

With special Yukari-sensei Driving bonus rounds, and Mr. Kimura Camera snaps extra credit.

I was thinking a Kenshin game. They'd have to do it right, with the right mix of light-hearted comedy, kickass action, and mysterious Samuai-X style darkness. It'd probably be rated M though.

As mentioned before, a Big O game would be interesting.

What I want, though, is a .hack//sign MMORPG. I've never had any MMORPGs before, but this is one I'd get. The only thing: it'd need VR helmets/visors. And those aren't exactly...invented...yet.

Y'know, there is a translation patch for the SNES Tenchi game.

I came across Enix's Mahoujin Guru Guru (SNES) the other day. No translation patch, though. It's a rather clever show, possibly the closest thing there will ever be to a RPGWorld (http://www.rpgworldcomic.com) series.

Another thing... a GOOD slayers RPG, or a remake of the classic Magic Knights Rayearth rpg.

Along the lines of something different...hmm Fushigi Yuugi RPG :P

Miyazaki fans should be happy to know that there was a game based on his 1978 TV series Future Boy Conan. It appeared on the PC Engine CD, and looked pretty decent as far as I can tell, at least as far as side-scrolling platformers go.

.....
Oh, and btw, if you visit AnimeSuki.com, you'll find bit torrent downloads of the Future Boy Conan series, as well as the TV production of Anne of Green Gables, which was made by Isao Takahata with Miyazaki helping in.

well this may sound silly and or stupid but I have been sort of making something like that for a while and really I have gotten only a bit far but as soon as I do get this made (I hope) I plan to sell the prototype to whoever owns the anime or the company who has the PS2 .hack games out allready because I myself would love to see that out and being really popular!!!! 8-)

No, here's the story. Takahata and Miyazaki first became famous for a TV series called "World Masterpiece Theatre," where they adapted famous works of children's literature and devote an entire season to it. This was started with "Heidi" in 1971 or '74 (I forget) and was very successful. They followed up with A Dog of Flanders, 3000 Miles in Search of My Mother, and then Anne of Green Gables in 1979.

This was pretty much how Takahata revolutionized animation, by making it grow up and giving it a real emotional depth. Anne was his last show before moving on; Miyazaki had left after episode 15 to direct Castle of Cagliostro, his first film. Oh, and the character designs were by Yoshifumo Kondo, who was another key Ghibli collaborator over the years, and he directed Whisper of the Heart in 1995.

Anyway, the 1979 Anne of Green Gables is easily the best adaptation of the novel. It ran 52 half-hour episodes, which allowed Takahata to really get into the heads of the characters. It's probably the best animation ever made for television. Good luck ever seeing it here.

Again, you can download the entire series at animesuki.com, under the name "Agake no An." Future Boy Conan is also listed on the same page.

Woah. You'd think a DVD release would sell just dandily. 52 high-quality episodes can take a long time to download, too...

Was Anne of Green Gables popular in Japan before then? I know it's still at least reasonably well known now. (It was featured briefly in the R.O.D. TV series, which also might not necessarily make such a bad video game.)

Yeah, it was very successful in Japan, and in other parts of the world. Like I said, World Masterpiece Theatre became a staple of TV for over 20 years, the that show's creators became the founders of Studio Ghibli, which is the best film studio in the world.

The reasons why programs like Anne or Conan won't appear in the West on DVD are all legal. Copyright issues were very different there, and you would have to secure rights from not just Nippon Animation, but the show's creators. And, of course, once the sharks smell blood - money - they'll all want a piece of the pie.

I'd love to see DVD sets of these shows, because they are truly fanastic. But there are so many hurdles that you'd never make any money. And, remember, in America Disney has a stranglehold on 'animation.' Folks aren't about to fork over $40 for a cartoon show they never heard of, even if it is light years better than anything they've ever seen.

So, until that all changes, we have the internet. What you should do is download Anne and Conan, and then get a DVD software program and make copies to give out as gifts. That's what I plan to do.
