It's PAL-only and definitely not common. A loose cart on eBay UK last week sold for around £90.

uh yeah, the pal version of this game is one of the rarest released games on any system in any region

congrats :) i'm still hoping to find this one on a dutch flea (several people found it there)...

It is most definitely one of the rarest NES Games, PAL only. It was never released in North America.

I must get around to playing it some time. I hear it's a great game.

Anyone have the scoop on the Japanese version?

Oh yeah, congrats!!

I still remember when I saw one of them for 1.50$...

Another of the rarest games would be Championship Rally. Is listed as a rumor, but it was released on Europe, altough the dumped rom is Aussie only

I only bought Uforia brand new. ... £30 though :o ... good find though

Anyone has seen Championship Rally on Europe? Maybe it was released only on some countries just like Rodland was?

I got a copy of this game through a trade with someone living in England, but it is an Australian release.

it was actually euro, i accidently hit the pounds sign instead of the euro one. I'm not quite used to the different keys here in europe. so the game did coast 30 euros.... and they had piles of them... the same game, i'd say 20-25 of it, along with a ton of PAL only releases.

Hmmm, well, it nearly as rare? Also, being NTSC, it must play at the "real" speed. How Japanese language intensive is it?

i really had no idea about PAL released games for the NES other then Rodland being tough to find and that stadium events in PAL format is fairly easy to find. I only bought it because it wasn't released in the US. they also had a stack of Super Turrican, Aladdin, Elite, Lion King and some others I think action in new york, not sure though.

Action in New York is the game called S.C.A.T on the USA

Aha. Rodland is pretty rare and desirable in Japan and, oddly enough, is often sold brand new. Yes, it's NTSC, so if you're in America, it's the better version to play, though the cart is way too tall to use in a toaster NES with convertor. The only language barrier issues are in the vague cutscenes, but considering even the arcade original's dialogue consisted of lines like, "Mom!! We will help," you're not missing out at all.

The NES port was developed by Storm the Sales Curve in the UK, headed by Simon Pick (who went on to do Die Hard Trilogy and...I don't know what else). It was developed initially for the European market, and then translated for Japan, so there's a possibility that the Famicom cart has some bugfixes too!

As for the game itself, a couple of scrolling action stages were added exclusively to the NES version, including a totally unique final level with about four new enemies. On the downside, the secret "second quest" from the arcade game is completely absent.

Also, brand new Ufouria? Hook a RedEye up!

i have the address if you ever happen to travel to Rome.

The guys didn't ship internationally and had no idea how to use ebay. The store was full of really cool stuff, not just NES stuff, but also some brand new intellivision games (although they all looked like imports from america, strange i thought), brand new snes, brand new n64, brand new genesis, brand new boxed systems (pirate NES system, NES systems, Genesis systems), brand new ps1 games some, brand new atari video game storage system holders (boxes written in german i think) and so so much more.

If any europeans or anyone for that matter is interested as to the whereabouts and you are traveling to or live in italy let me know and i will drop you the address. I only bought one because i was low on the dinero, else i would have brought more back for everyone :), sorry.
