I apologize if this topic has been touched on already but I didn't find anything when I searched so here we go. What's the best pack in game that came new with a system? I know recently the Metroid Prime Gamecube pack became available which is what made me think of this topic. Personally I'm not a big Sega fan but I think for me, I played the hell out of Sonic when I first got my Genesis. The graphics were so amazing and the game was so fast. That'd be my vote for best pack in even though it's probably the second most common pack in ever (Duck HUnt/Mario).

Tetris for the original Gameboy. Of all the pack-ins ever, this one still gets regular gameplay from me...

That's a good one, though my vote has to go to Duck Hunt for NES. Solidified my decision to become a gamer.
Plus, it was good fun.

Well, I have a lot of faves, Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt is probably #1 though. Tetris was awesome as well as Sonic.
Minestorm for Vectrex still get's a lot of play!
Hey, how about Solitaire for Game.com? That's gotta be pretty high up on the list! :)

Mine came with Lights Out. A decent enough game, specially for the Game.com.

Solitaire was actually built into the system, so I guess it counts. :)

Combat for the ol' 2600. Me and the brother played Hell out of this. I also really like Minestorm for the Veccy. And Mario Tennis for the Virtual Boy.

Donkey Kong for the Colecovision. The game that made everyone want to buy the system.

Super Mario/Duck Hunt ACTION SET hands down...
Yet my vote goes for Last Christmas' Zelda GameCube Bundle. 4 Zelda's with a Cube was very very nice.
3rd place I'd say was the SNES Bundle with "Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World" The 5 in 1 Cart

I have to agree with Tetris as the best pack-in game.
My favorite was the Sega CD pack in games. I had the original version 1 which came with Sol-Feace, Sherlock Holmes, Sega Classics and a couple of music/CD+G discs. So you got the hardware two music CDs and six games in the original set. OK so some of the games were just Genesis ports but if you didn't have them already then they were new to you.

1st place: Super Mario World + Super Mario All Stars. Not my favourite, but you canīt beat five mario games
2nd game: Tie between Tetris for Gameboy and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt
3rd place: Sonic 2 for Genesis

Dreamcast: Sega Smash Pack: Volume 1
Description from /www.dreamcasthistory.com/releasedus.html
Sega originally bundled this with a system that caused dealers to open the systems and sell the game individually. Contains Altered Beast, Columns, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, Phantasy Star II (arguably the best PS), Wrestle War, Vectorman, Streets of Rage, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shining Force - all emulated Mega Drive/Genesis games. Sega planned on releasing further volumes but it never came about. Also includes a full version of Virtua Cop 2 and Sega Swirl (which was also available on various Demo Discs).
That is one rockin' pack-in!
I need to get one!

Genesis with Sonic 1
I don't recall any of my youth clearer than the moment I hooked up my Genesis for the first time.

Altered Beast? :D
All glory goes to SMS with Hang-On / Safari Hunt. The few, the proud, the consoles with built in games... (and Safari Hunt was WAY better than Duck Hunt).
Second place? ROB with Gyromite. The robot impressed many a kid on my block, even if it was one of the most gimped assessories ever released.
Third place - Turbo Duo w/ Gates of Thunder, Bonk 1, Bonk 2 + Bomberman.

Gotta be Mario All-Stars for SNES.
More recently, the limited Halo pack-in was sweet as well - although I'm not sure it was a large enough run to be considered a true "pack in".

Well since everyone already covered my favorites here is my least favorite.
ATV Offroad Fury 2
That has to be the biggest weaksauce pack in ever. The game is just so average. Hardley worth being a pack in.

My favouite: NES w/ SMB/DH
worst ever: 7800 w/ Pole Position II
Tetris for the original Gameboy. Of all the pack-ins ever, this one still gets regular gameplay from me...
Donkey Kong for the Colecovision. The game that made everyone want to buy the system.
I agree with both of these. Push come to shove, though, I'd have to go with "Tetris". Heck, even my EX (who generally couldn't care less about video games) bought a GameBoy brick back in the day just to play "Tetris". It was the ONLY game that she ever had for the system too.

the nintendo with duckhunt/mario was cool
and then there was the SNES with mario word
but now the special edition that japan has release for pana- gamecube, the xbox and ps2 make me drool over them, also these stuff is obtainable through EBAY with a bigass price tag...

I have to agree with this. #1, because it was the only way to get Sol Feace in the US, and the main reason why I bought one. #2, because you got so many other games in addition to that. #3, because the music/CD+G disk was just too fuckin' cool for words. I'll never forget the first time that I watched the one for "Manic Depression". Just that alone convinced my best friend to buy one too, because he was a huge Hendrix fan, so that actually sold at least one system that I personally know of! That's a pretty amazing feat.
But I have to say that Sonic the Hedgehog & Donkey Kong Country are tied for 2nd place, with Gex for 3DO coming in at a very close 3rd. All of these were great pack-ins, and the reason why I bought a Genesis, SNES, & 3DO.
The 32X should've come with a pack-in, but I don't believe that it ever did. Kolibri would've been a great one for it. I went with the core systems for the Saturn & Dreamcast, which probably was the best way to go with them.
I don't think I got a pack-in with the PSX either, but I got Williams Arcade Classics at the same time, which was good enough for me. Kinda crazy, given the power of the system, but that gave me 6 classic games at one time. :)
The Jaguar should've come with Tempest 2000, but I don't think it ever did, which was a huge mistake for Atari. If I'm wrong about that, it didn't come with it when I got mine. I either got mine without a pack-in at all, or I sold the Cybermorph cart back to the store, I don't remember which. I think that Blue Lightning was a pretty good choice for the Jag CD, especially since you got Vid Grid, the Tempest 2000 soundtrack, and the Myst demo with it too. They were obviously trying to imitate the pack-ins for the original Sega CD, so a very smart move there, but there's still no explaining no Tempest 2000 as a pack-in for the Jag though. What were they thinking? Cybermorph?
Cybermorph gets my vote for the worst pack-in ever!

Super Mario World pack in for SNES.
Nowadays your lucky to get a demo as a pack in. Greedy companies

the mario all-stars/super mario world cart. who can argue with that?
also, i commend MS and sega for the JSRF/sega GT pack-in. nobody had given us pack-in games in years (unless it was an N64 theme console you paid more for...i.e. donkey kong), and we got one awesome one, and one "pretty good for it's day" one, both of which were plenty capable of keeping you occupied for weeks.

Ditto this one. Speaking of Ditto, why haven't they ever bundled a Pokemon game with a system...or have they? I mean a real Pokemon game, not the cheesy "Pokemon Snap" garbage.
