Like the title says, is there any difference between the N64 controllers for the US systems vs the Japanese systems? I picked up a boxed Japanese N64 today, but no controller came with it. I'd like to add one back, but want to make sure I have the appropriate one. Even if the difference is just in the markings or stickers I'd like to know.
If there is a difference and anyone has one they want to get rid of, I'm interested!
Thx,

If it is anything like the snes, controllers from one region will work on all regions.

To the best of my knowledge, the only difference is that Japan got A LOT more color variations than the US did (not that the US didn't get a ton, though). The standard Japan controller was still the good old grey.

Cool. I figured they were interchangable, but wasn't sure what color to get or if there would be any text differences. Course, if I had just looked at the box, the picture of the grey controller is a dead giveaway (I'd say I can't understand the picture because it's written in japanese, but I doubt I'd get away with that!! LOL )

probably wire length consideing sfc controllers were always shorter than snes controllers, but this is just an observation

Got a grey controller with my JAP N64, the same one as those that came with my EU N64's so i asume that the US one's are the same :)
