There is a major flaw in the design of the game "The Sims 2" that should have been addressed like, a year ago.

Your Sim gets old and dies which is what should happen but everyone in the area stays young. It's like Charlie Brown being a kid still after 60 years.

I tend to just make woman on women type situations so no kids, just you and the luva.. well, my first "The Sims 2" Sim, Amy, just had a heart attack but her life long, from high school, lover was.. still High School age..

Now this might be GREAT in the real world but in the gaming world it's just sad to behold.. in the end the girl left her 70 year old high school friend for a 20 something while she still was 16.

So you make a 20 something Sim and all his friends at the parties are the same age but you are on your death bed.

I swear game designers are geting lazy.

Wow, that is pretty sad. Although, as you mentioned, in real life if I had a 16 year old...uh...NOW, nevermind at age 70, that would be pretty nice....

They need to patch it to make it selectable. the "world" persistant or not.

It's an easy fix. just a button and some database saving on the whole town..

I know what you're saying Raedon.

As for myself I've just been kicking to the exliar of life.
Or you could just use the cheat code and turn aging off.

thats sad and messed up LOL !!! I guess you cant "play god" in these sim games all the time, the only ones who can really in these games are the software developers of the game!!!!!

Also to Sylentwulf: if you ever change that avatar I wanna know because THAT IS AN AWESOME AVATAR!!!!!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Yeah, that's just lazy. I can't believe they released it with a flaw like that. Now I don't feel so bad that my 5 year old Compaq is probably too old to handle the game anyways.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this shit from Acclaim or maybe Eidos, but not EA.

thing is if EVERYONE in your town aged when only playing one house/character, it would be a bitch cuz youd have all your ppl dying and you would have to alwyas be addin new ppl around town...i dunno...it IS stupid...but i dunno how they could get around it...

No, that is the way it SHOULD be, kids grow old, families get powerful from the inheratence. I guess if you play a family a day they will all get old the same time, but I usually only play one family.

what if you had a family...and your friend/brother/sister/watever, had a family in the same town...and your brother/sister watever played for hours and hours one day, and when you got to play yours, your family was almost dead! wouldnt that suck? They would be dead before you even got to do anything...I think the only solution would be to able to have the option of turnin it on or off...that way no one could complain the other option was not available

I swear game designers are geting lazy.

Even the best PC game designers aren't immune to mistakes--most people agree that Warren Spector dropped the ball with Deus Ex: Invisible War, in which he tried and failed to execute a console-game aesthetic--but I don't think your complaint is a "major flaw" by any means. Avenger points out a very good reason why you wouldn't want every family in a town to age as you play.

Do you like S2 otherwise? I think it's brilliant.

Oh I think it's a great game if you play it for just one household as a typical wife and 2 kids family and don't care about your friends not getting old.

The world should be persistant is all.. It's important even if you never see "your sister again." Who says you want to play her family?

Just a option would fix it all.

Interesting bug -

If you are "Cuttle" in a hot tub with a "WhoHoo" in line for your next move and your ride for work comes up.. characters lock. Not the game.. the "cuttle" just lasts forever..

Yes, I play a lot of games.
