I just got 2 Colecovisions. For some reason the atari expansion works fine but the Colecovisions do not. O_O With the atari games, I got a nice clear picture. With Coleco games,I get a scrambled picture, colorfull lines, or just a flat blue or white picture. Please tell me if cleaning is the answer, Ill wait in case it is unsafe for me to do so.

That sucks!

well, obviously the contact points differ for each port... how clean does your cartridge (CV/top) port look?

Where's a CV expert when you need one (cough cough... wberdan... cough)?

hmm i would try a number of things-

i would more likely suspect its either
(A)- it needs a cleaning in the colecovision slot.
or (B) replace the switchbox with a 3$ radio shack part. one of those "female rca to male F connector" plugs... if youre using a switchbox- there might be some kind of fluke thing going on.
or (C)- needs a new power supply.

since you have two CVs with the same problem though... maybe they just need cleaning.. hm.

easiest way to clean the connectors in my opinion- clean a colecovision cartridges connectors- and then insert and remove in the colecovision several times. repeat this whole process several times, and continue to clean the cartridge every few times.
if youre too lazy to do that- just insert and remove a regular cartridge like 30 times... that usually will clean the connectors enough to work ok.

if the cleaning doesnt work- then try the other two-
