To say that I've never had such questions myself would be a lie. I must have been about 13 or 14 when Super Street Fighter II came out. I remember seeing Cammy's, er, victory pose and, well, wanting to see more.

In fact, that's the first game I think I recognized the blatant use of sex to attract players, outside of the PC games like Softporn or Leisure Suit Larry. For those games, though, the sex seemed to be more a vehicle for humor than anything else. The fighting games were all about T&A and buttcrack shots; completely gratuitous.

My friend bought a Neo Geo last year and the only cart he has is Art of Fighting 2. For no reason at all, when you defeat female characters, their shirts fly off in a flurry of torn and tattered cloth, exposing their heaving breasts. One of the taunts in the game for the female characters is to stick their asses in the air towards the enemy and slap their buttocks.

I'm not sure what game it is, but I keep seeing a picture of Mai Shurani (from Fatal Fury 2) sticking her essentially bare ass in the air as well (It's probably King of Fighters or something.)

My conclusion: Neo Geo is rediculous.

Yeah, it is, except that this kind of stuff has been around for awhile. My friend in middle school was really "computer literate" for the time, and he came up with all sorts of this garbage. You know, it's one thing to be 11 and amused by this stuff...when you're looking at it in your 20's, that may be a cause for concern.

I've also heard that a lot of the Hentai and truly over-the top porn that's made in Japan is not sold all that much within Japan itself. Who buys it? Americans!! (It might not be true--I don't want people jumping on me and telling me to fact check or whatever.)

I suspect that such advertisements have no place on websites of legitimate businesses. And ROM distribution is by no means a legitimate business. They have to go somewhere, it seems.

That's rather funny, because sites with, eh "well-drawn" hentai for download usually have it illegally. This garbage we see is most likely up in a semi-legal fashion as the "artist" is a westerner.
