What is the game with the most fun gameplay but with the worst plot? My pick would be Gotcha Force for GCN. It has the most riducluous, worthless plot ever, but the gameplay is addicting.
Also, which game has the best plot but the worst gameplay? Evolution Worlds would be my first pick. I can't stand the repetitive dungeon-crawling, yet I find the plot rather engaging.
(I apologize if this topic has ever been discussed before, I didn't find it with the search)

Worst plot? Any game where you rescue the princess. Cmon folks, we can be more creative than that.

I'm not sure why developers even bother with a plot in most games. Who cares? I don't think the plot or story of a game (any game) ever inspired me to work harder or beat the game. The challenge and difficulty are what inspire me to work harder, etc. I can't imagine some gamer building internal rage because Ganon betrayed Hyrule, or whatever.

I agree with GameNinja. Gotcha has a horrible plot, but man is that game fun. :D

any game that involves you playing as people who have to save the world from some evil guy usually has a stale plot.

try playing a game with a good story like FF6, FF7 or Chrono Trigger or Phantasy Star IV, Parasite Eve. There are a ton of games that have stories that make you want to play the game.

Super Mario Sunshine. I mean seriously. Mario has an ALIBI, and even after the islanders learn Mario isn't the bad guy, he still has to clean up. So many times during the game I just wanted to scream at the islanders for being so stupid. Then you find out (Sadly) that the culpret is Baby Bowser? Why not characters that already existed? Bowers Kids? All 7 of them, whoever the mother is. So Baby Bowser tells you that Bowser said Peach is his Mom and Mario is trying to kidnap her! LOL Still, the game was fun. In that Mario way. Frustrating of course, but still fun.
Dynamite Cop (DC)/ Die Hard Arcade (SS) It make NO sence.

I think it's more about how they use that idea, wasn't FF6, FF7, Chrono Trigger and PS4 about that? ;)
