View Full Version : Final Fantasy NES
I'm playing it right now.
I'm currently leveling up outside of Corneria [sp?]
Stupid Imps.. grr..
I need more GP to buy Lit [BM] and Harm [WM] so then I can go to the Cave of Fiends.
EDIT: I dislike MadPony. It killed my White Mage. It shall perish. FIRE! AHAHAHAHAHAH! -cough cough, hack-

HARM? I wouldn't waste my time and money....
Too late, got Harm and Lit. What the hell does Harm do anyway? It doesn't do damage to any of the fiends.

Harm can only "harm" the undead monsters: Ghouls, ghost, & the like.

Yeah, the first FF boasts some of the most useless spells of all time....ALIT, HARM, LOCK (or something like that), even the higher level stores have these to pick from...I remember buying a super expensive spell by accident, saving my game, and then trying to cast FIR3 or something like that and realizing it was AMUT or the like...and then it was back to the fields outside of the Elf castle to fight ogres and asps for another 6 hours....the joys of old school RPGS :)

I'll agree that spells like ALIT (Anti-Lightning) and LOCK (supposedly makes it easier for the caster to hit the enemy that it's used on) were pretty useless, but I had some good experiences with the HARM spells. They become especially usefull in the ice cave (and in the underwater city, I think). I sometimes gets difficult to keep your Black Mage in magic in there because of all of the enemies you run into. Since many of the enemies in there are undead types, it helps to have a spell or two that the White Mage can use to clear things up a bit.

Buy Harm because your white mage will finally be able to attack enemies in battle.
Harm twas baught, as well as Lit! Time to beat some fiend ass!
