Looks like SW:B is going to get a lot of hype for it's release on Wed.
I've seen two different commericals for the game. One is pretty standard. But the second one, that I saw for the first time tonight, is DAMN funny. :D
While the narrator goes on about imaging youself in numerous Star Wars situations, and being able to fly, shoot, control, or fight just about anything, they show some.......average people in the situations. ;)
One young guy is eating pizza inside of a X-Wing. Another fat guy is trying to follow some rebel troopers, yelling 'Wait! Wait!'. A third geeky guy crouches down on a ridge with a line of rebel troops.
The last scene has the first guy, the pizza-eating dork, taking a hit and getting his pizza slice all over himself. :)
Best gaming commerical of the year! LOL LOL LOL

At OKGE they had two Xboxes running the game and it looked super awesome. I can't wait to try it out for myself, the wait to play was hours long.

Yes, apparently BB put them out earlier, but I'm broke until Wednesday so I'll pick mine up at Gamestop tomorrow where I can trade in some clunkers to go towards the remaining 40 bones I owe on it.
Look me up on Live : Kaiju Devil
Also, if you're in a clan, my clan from Unreal 2, Rival Schools, is moving to this game shortly and we'd be glad to take on any challengers.

I've had a review copy since last Monday, and I have to say it reminds me a lot of Battlefield 1942 or Freedom Fighters in its presentation. I did encounter some slowdown when there were several soldiers on the screen when I spawned in, and there are several areas where you have to walk a mile before you actually encounter a fight, but other than that, I gave it an A grade.
It was cool when the Fed Ex people brought me a surprise package from Lucas Arts at 9:00 a.m., though. X_x

Game worth playing single-player?

Well, single-player mode has two modes: historical mode and galactic conquest mode. Historical forces you through battles from the movie, and you have to beat the battle with the group that won it in the movie. Galactic conquest sends you across different planets to either conquer them or liberate them, but if you win four in a row as the Empire, you get to blow one of the planets up with the Death Star.
It's no worse than either of the aforementioned games that I named, and I enjoy playing it a lot, even though I'm not what you would call a hardcore Star Wars fan. Matter of fact, it's the only PS2 game I've been playing repeatedly next to Street Fighter Collection. I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon...

I'm so looking forward to this. I'm also soooo pissed off at my local Best Buy for not breaking the street date even though I ordered it for in-store pickup without any problem ...

game sounds fun. i may have to finally break down and pay a subscription fee for xbox live for this game (so far, there are only 2 games i really want for xbox live, this 1 and capcom vs snk 2).

Official PlayStation Magazine has a playable demo of SW:Battlefront this month, including multi-player (!) if you wanna try before you buy. There's also some GT4 footage that makes me pee myself. :-P

I played the demo version of Battlefront and it was a good game that I will defenitely buy. The demo only had the Endor level but it was still cool to haul ass around on speeders.

I didn't see the funny commercial, but I did saw the other one today. They releasing figures again. I might buy some of those because I don't have any of the older ones.

The only reason I would buy it is for online. Im going to wait a while before I buy it though. Rent first maybe. Dont want to buy a game and find out there are a lot of cheaters in it like Socom 1.
