View Full Version : Question about Canadian Playstation Game
I have a brand new sealed Final Fantasy Chronicles for the Playstation. Its the Canadian version. Just curious, what are the differences compared to the US version ?
Do they have the same SLUS code? How about the CD label art, manual etc ?
thanks in advance

I am not 100 percent positive on this. But the last several square games I have bought in Canada have had a a English + a French Manual. So its probably the same.

Usually, the Canadian edition of Square Enix games include a black-and-white French manual (apart from the English manual). I've seen some Square games with a Canadian flag icon on the box to show that it's the Canadian edition. Sometimes the outer packaging is bilingual (French and English), but not always.
Label art is usually the same. As for the SLUS code, it's probably different, to show that it's a Canadian release.
There are no other differences usually, the warranty card still has to be sent to the states and we too use the ESRB ratings.
Things have changed a bit since the PSX days and it's reflected on the game releases here too. In Quebec, the game now HAS to have French text on the outer packaging (usually a loose jacket sleeve shrinkwrapped over the English-only label) AND a French manual. Some companies were already complying in part if not fully to this law (e.g. Nintendo, Square Enix, Ubi Soft...), but others are now obliged to follow through or else no sales here.
