you know it is funny, i have never watched anybody play ikaruga, but my friends like to watch me play it. the words i hear alot are things like, "holy hell! how are you dodging all the bullets at once". i guess i took the trance part a little far. i don't remember which site said it, but they said you pretty much have to get into a trance like state when playing the game in order to zone out the color of the bullets that your ship is. i took it as getting super stoned and playing the game.

i used to love watching fighting game tourneys, but they all play the same. they will sit there and block waiting for their opponent to do something.

i saw this 1 video of a guy going bananas on pop 'n music doing some crazy ass mozart song or something. it was insane. i like watching things that look near impossible when it comes to games.

This is a cool topic. I don't like watching other people play that much (too selfish i guess, LOL ) but when I do I like really any kind of action or stealth or racing games ie, Goldeneye, Any Mario Karts, Super Mario games, Rush's. Those are the ones I guess that stick out to me.

If someone is REALLY good , I think it's pretty fun to watch the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. I consider myself good at THPS 3 , but I was watching a video online from someone who won a tournament , and it was mindblowing.

If the player's good, Robotron. Kaboom can be fun to watch at the super fast levels.

Also, just about any shmup with lots of bullets. I once watched a video of some superhuman DonPachi player (from Japan, natch) and it was quite entertaining.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I think it'd be cool to have a DVD packed full of exceptional video game performances. I doubt I'd sit and watch it very often, but it would be good to have on in the background when I'm working at my PC, cleaning carts, etc.

My old flatmate used to sit up with me most the night watching me play code veronica.. Quite handy really, he was better at remembering where things were and solving the 'puzzles', I just liked shooting stuff... :D

He always said he preferred watching it to actually playing it !!

i find myself watching those emulator-made videos of old nes games all the time. they're really fun to watch. try to get ahold of the super baki technique for mario bros 1 or the speed run for mario 3 (45 mins every level in the game). i've also watched, castlevania, metroid, smb2, megaman 3, and a few more, all were amazing.

i've also seen some of the ikaruga vids and those are great too.

when i was playing crono cross a few years ago, my roomate would get mad if i played when he wasn't there. it was like watching a movie for him.

Almost any well-known old-school arcade game. Watching Billy Mitchell at the Midwest Gaming Classic play Donkey Kong was really cool.

RPG's for the most part too, you don't necessarily need to play to see the story.

And Lost Eden for the 3DO is a game that even when you are playing it, you'll feel like you're just watching it. Great fun though, in my opinion.

Rez... but note in the dot bomb fall out I managed to get a $6000 projector to play it on. Sadly the bulb has blown and I'm too cheap to pop for the $400 replacement... I mean $400 is a lot of classic gaming goodness...

I love Viewtiful Joe, but I'm not very good at it. It's great fun to actually watch someone who's good play it. That and Donkey Konga are fun to watch. Donkey Konga just because everyone looks so silly doing it.

My wifes best friend used to stay with us on weekends and she loved Silent Hill. She would play it and I just sat and watched. We figured out some of the puzzles together and I finished off the odd boss. She did most of the work though. I really liked watching it. It was still scary.

War of the Monsters, hands down. Theres nothing like causing tidal waves and earthquakes in major cities, watching people flee, and chucking buses like grenades.

What an underappreciated lil gem thats just outright FUN.

I like watching people play games when they're better than I am, otherwise I try to take the controller from them.

Games I do enjoy watching though are DDR, any Metroid game, Halo, and any Mario Party game.

i watched my brother play through Deus Ex: The conspiracy all the way. i thinked i liked it more than he did :P
i also watched my brother play ninja gaiden for xbox that was really cool to watch.
also my whole family watched me play tony hawk 4 and underground. i kicked a$$ at those games and they were all like "how did you do that" and stuff it was fun :D
