Any tips for cleaning off the contacts? I've never had to do it before. Thanks.

Pencil Erasers with the triangle tip (79 to 89 cents for a bag of 20). Thanks to it's narrow size, it's just right to clean the contacts on carts

If the contact is just mildly dirty, then I just use a dry Q-Tip sometimes, and just make sure that no 'fuzzies' get left behind. Picks up dirt really well. If it's dirtier, well then you might have to pull out some diluted alcohol (maybe rubbing alcohol).

alcohol and q tips always fix my games up nicely.

Yeah best luck is to use those triangular eraser tips or just a q*tip with some alcohol.

I use Windex and a Qtip. I use Windex to clean thinks because I figure it does not leave a film on things. It is left a fim it would not be good for glass. Started using it on contects one time when that is all I had handy. It works great.

(hiding Nova Blast cartridge)... uh, of course not!

seriously, the contacts on every cartridge I got in that auction lot are fine except for this one...

I think it got lost under a bed...

in a basement...

that was once flooded...

by a backed up sewer system...

while the family was on vacation...

for 3 months.

This one has 4 contacts (out of 14) at one end that look corroded to me, but the alcohol and qtips worked fine and they look 95% better now. I still haven't tested it yet (won't be able to until this weekend).

Doesn't the alcohol quickly evaporate?

It really depends on how much there is to begin with and what percentage of the alcohol is actually water. Obviously the more there is and the lower the purity, the longer it would take to dry. Usually, I try to get 91% alcohol solution. Also, itwiping it dry is probably a reasonable habit to get into, especially if you use alcohols with lower persentages as the water will likely help corrode the contacts that you just used it and the alcohol to clean.
