18 original black box/Zelda games...I think there are 30 something, so I'm about half-way. I already have a few of the tougher ones to get (Popeye and Clu-Clu Land). Baseball and Volleyball are Canadian, which I didn't realize had different text than US games  But oh well. I realize I could get the complete set, but I'm doing it on the cheap. I've never paid more than 6 bucks for any of these :D

That's looking pretty good man, and you're easily within reach now of completing the collection, well, except for Donkey Kong Jr Math, which might be tough. But nevertheless, Congrats man :D

Yeah, DK Jr. Math will be hard to get in a good deal, but we're not talking Air Raid :) I just want to get it cheap in a BIN lot, which is how I've gotten 90% of these.

You're right. But Gyromite "big box" is way bitcher to find LOL

That's a damn fine picture. I have all the black labels except Balloon Fight, but only one of them has a box (Clu Clu). Way to go on getting that set near complete. And best of luck with Donkey Kong Jr. Math.

Same here, mine has a large slash along the left side I somehow missed. Good luck with Stack-Up!

Thanks for the comments, everyone :) This is really the only part of my collecting side that I'm actively pursuing at the moment. As far as DKJR Math vs. Stack Up goes, I've never seen a complete Stack Up on ebay, but I have seen 2 DKJR Math, both of which were in pretty good shape and went for $70-80 approx.

the volleyball US box is a tough one to find, but not as much as the dk jr math and stakup. anyways, its looking quite good man. are you making sure your games match up with the box? the correct variation that is.
5 screw games with the hangtabs? you know, the works.
keep it up.

I'm pretty sure the games match up, 5 screw with hangtabs, but I've never made sure. Really, I'm more concerned with just having the boxes. The rest I can worry about later. The canadian games have their hangtags ripped out  but they were cheap so oh well. I'll eventually replace them with US editions anyway. Anybody want to trade for their beat up DKJR Math box? Like I said, I just want the set for now, later when I have more funds I'll make sure everything is perfect.

is it really that important having them all 1st and then worrying about good conditions.....i could never see the sense in that....for example, i wanted a sound system in my car when i was 16 really bad...i had enough for most of it, but the $$ i had would only buy me decent subs and a mediocre amp....i could have gotten by with that....but i figured....why buy something that wasnt the best, and then want to upgrade anyway...id be paying for it twice.....so i just kept holding my money...it took a few months longer...but being able to buy a $500 amp and 2 $300 subs along with everything else was a lot better than buying a $100 amp and 2 $50 subs and then realizing they sucked and feeling the need to get new ones
id say dont spend $$$ twice on a game...just get a good one right off the bat
thats just my $0.02 though

Good luck with wrecking crew as well, I hardly see that one complete, much less with just the box. God I love that game though, would kick ass to have complete ;D.

My friend had a complete stack up, that even was still in the plastic, with the top removed by the original owner from long ago to play with it. Complete, nice box, etc. He sold it on ebay last fall before I had the money to buy it off him though

Good question. I want these primarily for display, and who knows, by the time I have the $$ to buy pristine copies of these games, they may be going for 2 or 3 times what they are now. Plus, like I said, I only buy these games when I see them in lots, so I can't be too particular. In your case, you knew that when you had the money, the sound system you wanted would be about the same price. Not so with video games.

Wrecking Crew and Clu Clu Land boxes can be somewhat annoying, believe me.

I bid around $20 on this, but lost out.

But I guess you're right. I've never done a straight up Stack Up search, there's one there now that will probably end around $100.

clu clu land box? yeah, i second the annoyance. I don't think the wrecking crew box is too hard to find. I've seen a number of them and I found my hangtab wrecking crew (with a REV A version of the game inside ) for 17 bucks on ebay.

something's up with dk jr. math boxes...the one i had and later sold on ebay i got from a video rental store, which meant the top and bottom flaps had (very cleanly) been removed. the rest of the box was in perfect shape.
