I mean come on... We've all seen just about every dirty trick and trap in the book... You guys must have some stories to tell
heres two of mine
#1: I was challenged by some kid at my local arcade playing MvC and 'cause our arcade uses cheating machines he used Onslaught (heck I didn't even know you could use him back then) and the damn little freak had Infinite super at his disposal (Boss version perhaps???) and the f*@king little cheap @ss brat kept on using the damn Psychic puppet super (the one where he summons a copy of your character with 1\4 of the health bar and twice the normal strength!!) well I creamed about ten of the little F@*kers Puppets but he won on time due to the fact that I hadn't landed a single hit on Onslaught himself!!!
#2: vs cpu Ignis in KOF2k1, I shit you not the Cpu pulls this off all the damn time, once he hits you with his standing Razor Whip(not the jumping version) he can hit you with just about anything in his arsenal including another Razor Whip followed by another and another.... It was F#@king maddening to see the computer pull off an infinity combo on me!!!

This was on Streetfighter II: Champion Edition. Some cheap little fucker used Chun-Li's 'block and tackle' method on me. He would jump in with a fierce punch, which I would easily block. BUT when I blocked the punch, that SOB would move Chun-Li in and throw me to the ground! All it took was three throws and I was history. What a cheesy play!
Another Streetfighter II: Champion Edition cheesy play used on me was by this sorry assed guy that used M. Bison, doing nothing but pyscho crushers back and forth on the screen. Total cheese!

The simplest and still worst to this day is the rassle-frassin' jump-light-kick-crouch-light-kick-kick-kick-kick-etc. move that worked oh so well on those poor beat up SFII machines that were around just before championship edition came out. God I hated people that did that. They'd lurk right next to the machine that had a first player joystick that was less than responsive than than it should be.
It felt so good when I finally perfected my dragon punch to the point where I could take out Blanka every time he did his roll. It also took care of these little bastards.

Speaking of Bison being a cheap ass, Do you remember this...

That single move has cost many a great player a game or ten!!! This Psycho Drive Crusher did 85% or more damage, hit instantly, could not be air blocked or crouch blocked, did more block and guard meter damage than any other single move in the game and it was inescapable. if you screw up once he has a super charged up, no mater where you are, It'll hit.
man what an ass job that move was.... but it looks cool :?

You shoulda anti-aired the bitch chun li. Jumps are so unsafe in SF2 it's not even funny. Gotta love tick throws though LOL
Shoryukens work great on psycho crusher happy bisons. Take it from one with experience on that ;p

I was a novice back then. Eventually, I got MUCH better. I ran into other people trying those same methods... and I destroyed them. One guy jumped on the sticks when I was using Balrog. He has the nerve to pick Chun Li. What was he thinking? I finished him off SO easily with uppercuts that he waited for me to finish my game. Psycho crusher cheaters were beaten too. Chun Li's toe tap cancels M. Bison's psycho crusher. But a sonic boom or tiger blast works best.

To get away from SF land for a minute, the absolute CHEAPEST that I've ever had done to me first-hand was MK2, I forget what revision, but sub zero had a buggy ULTRA-freeze move that could be thrown over and over and over and unblockable. The dippy kid thought he was the king of the arcade that day, then everyone stopped playing him, and you could see the boredom grow on his face as he used that move on the CPU, haha
Oddly, when asked to play as another character, he wouldn't LOL

Gill's instant health recovery and full screen death blast in Street Fighter III: Third Strike was absurdly cheap, so much so that I never bother to even try to beat him. I mean, come on... Capcom would have had to give him infinite energy to make him any worse!

I'll agree with you ManekiNeko, Gill was just about the cheapest boss Capcom had come up with, especially in third strike where he had the benefit of having two other supers that he could use, meteor shower and that fucking Sepharic Wing super you said... 20 hits and 85% health vanishes.
another ass job super for another fucked up boss... >:(

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the cheapest one of all. Guile's handcuffs! There was this one dude who had Guile on the original SF2 machine (prior to the glitch being fixed) and this was ALL he would do. We were all.. "come on guy.. play the game the way it's supposed to be played  I mean it's BELOW cheap, it's practically cheating!

Is Street Fighter 2 Turbo Honda will pick you up and start squuezeing the life out of you and before you can even jump back he starts doing his hand thing and kills you.
The only people that can beat him when he does this EVERY time is one of the big guys.

As a kid, I hated the Ryu haduken haduken shoryuken, rinse and repeat. Cheapest thing in the book back in the early days. Then, I adopted the, what some would call, "cheap" Chun Li jump and throw (as stated above), but switched it up with the uncheap Chun Li all punch combo-dizzy-throw and the jumping kick into lighting kick pattern. Back in the day, what else could you do? So, I was so paraniod when people picked Ken or Ryu, I'd use these tactics. Against the computer, I hated the Street Fighter Alpha 3 Bison super, but I hated most that friggin' Gill regeneration! I spent a lot of time versus the various incarnations of Bison, but Gill is the worst! I know this was cheap, but I used to use, with Guile, the slow sonice boom pattern (this is in SSFII Turbo. Don't know if it can or if anyone uses it in the other SF). I followed the slow sonic boom, and if they blocked it, I threw them. If they jumped, I uppercutted or backfisted them. If they took the hit, I'd combo into a backfist. Kinda cheap, eh?
