The question is when do you go hunting for games in the wild?

I usually hit the 2nd hand stores, and thrifts on the weekends and if I got some cash burning a hole in my pocket I'll make a trip to the goodwill on my lunch break.

And whenever I go to the mall I'll check out the new and used games at EB and GS but they aren't on my regular hunting routine.

All in all it adds up to 2 Goodwills, 1 Vallue Village, 1 CD/Game Exchange and 1 or 2 Game Crazy's. And occasionally a indy thrift store or two. Also If I'm at the beach on some weekend and we have time I'll hit anything and everything between Wheeler and Seaside.

Answer:When I have money!

Honestly, that hasnt been to often these days. There are a few pawn shops localy but their selection of old titles is limited to mostly sports titles or games that could be bought for cheaper in new condition. The local thrift shops normaly dont have much. When they do on the other hand, they can have a few good finds. Their prices on the other hand can flux between reasonable to unreasonable.

All the time. I usually go about 3 or 4 times a week to thrifts in different areas. Sometimes it will be a brtually long trip and I'll find nothing and come home broken and torn. Then there's other days when I go to one thrift at impulse and arrive about 15 minutes before they close and find a bunch of turbografx games all for 2.99 including a complete Air Zonk =DDD. I just go whenever I have the time...and always during the week, very sparingly on the weekend, and usually sunday if I do.

I try to hit the thrift every second day or so as new shit comes in all the time. Some times I work during the hours when the thrift opens/closes so I'll just head there the next day. Now if I could find some time for garage sales... :)

What!? All this time I thought you found your stuff in the jungle!

Seems every day you learn something new...

Welcome to the Jungle, brother. Only the strong survive, er, I mean early bird gets the worm (and in my case, the lone SMB/Duck Hunt cart x_x)! LOL

Ain't it the truth! LOL

Damn. Sometimes you don't see ANYTHING, but you'll see a SMB/DH. Or maybe some random Genesis sports game.

Or you find the longbox case to a semi-rare Sega CD game, but inside is Lethal Enforcers. x_x LOL

Took the words right out of my mouth. For the last 3 months my local thrift has had one copy of SMB/Duck Hunt and NHL '95 for Genesis. LOL

They also had a mint box for the Gameboy today although they either misplaced the inside packaging/system or it was stolen. x_x

The thrift is still good for old toys! :D

During the week when I'm in school, sometimes I'll stop by the EB/Gamestop like stores between classes. But these never yield great results; recently I have avoided these stores more and more. My "hunts" are generally reserved for the weekend, typically I will hit up the thrifts and the used music stores (that also carry games), this is where I have the most luck. When I have money sometimes I'll go to a few indy shops which carry a good selection of old stuff, prices though are seldom steller in these shops. Typically shops like these will charge way too much for common games and too little for the rarer games which pop up from time to time. Lastly, when the weather is good, flea markets are fun to scope out.

On off days, or after work if I have the time.

There are 5 CD/Game Exchange stores in the Portland area, and I stop by each store once a month. A couple of the those twice a month if I have money to burn.

There's only one pawn out here I check on a regular basis; more coincedence and convience than anything else. They've been a little dry lately but I've made a nice share of finds there.

I can never get to the thrifts early enough to get the good stuff - but if I'm around one with time to waste, I'll check it out.

I don't make many finds at Gamestop, EB, or Gamecrazy but again, if I'm near one with time to waste, or if one of them is having a sale, I'll check it out.

I almost always have work on the weekend, so checking out a yard sale or flea market is a rare event.

im never lucky enuff to find great stuff that often...so if im drivin and i see a thrift on my way to the bank or something usually i stop....once and a while i will go to the flea, but usually my great finds are accidental...like last weel my wife MADE me drop clothes off at goodwill so i walked inside and the first thing i seen was a glass case with a FACTORY sealed GameGear for 20 bucks :D ...purely accidental

Whenever I have one or two hours between lectures. I don't go that much on weekends as I'm still sleeping when the good stuff is up.
I keep telling myself that next Saturday morning I'll go but when the time comes... no chance.

My routine has changed alot. It used to be a NPO thrift store, Goodwill, a few pawn shops (always has stuff... but sometimes they want WAY to much. Example: used GameCube: $99), 2 or 3 resale shops and Game Crazy. From Feb to June I was finding alot of goodies on my excursions but lately it seems that either competition is scoopin' me or the places I shop have upped the cost... ALOT. I was buying NES and SNES games from a pawn shop at $1 - $3 each, and now that same place wants $5 each! Even for a SMB/DH or a Madden SNES game. I'm still searching for a decent flea market around here. The only games I've found at the two I've visited were Hong Kong Pirated NES in a Controller things. I refuse to pay $80 for pirated BS - even if it has over 600 games on it. To top it all off Game Crazy goes and does something completely stupid. As soon as I finally find a Game Gear and Nomad... POOF... all the Sega games they had have been "redistributed" to stores in other states. Games in the wild is becoming lean indeed.

At midnight under a full moon I hunt for games in the wild. Going throughout Suburbia, I whistle my magic tunes like the pied piper and the cartridges and CDs come hopping and rolling out to me in the dead of night, clattering and making the hollow rolling sounds as they traverse the asphalt driveways and concrete sidewalks of Suburbia.

I go hunting everyday. there are a few thrifts on my way home from work so I alternate days on those. Tuesday nights I hit one on the way to floor hockey, Saturdays are for the ones off the work route and Sundays I usually just scrounge the clearance bins at Target or Meijers or whatever. Now that my collection is quite large it's hared to find stuff I don't already have but I still persist. You never know what will turn up.

I do have a few other collections so even if it's not games I don't often come home empty handed. It gets to be a chore sometimes but if you don't look you don't find.

Hell when I am driving around. If I see a store and have the time I stop.

I find the best time to be early afternoon on Friday. The VV's around me put out a bunch of new stuff for the weekend around noon, but by Friday evening the videogame stuff is gone. I guess all the scavengers in my area like to drop by the VV's on their way home from work on Friday, so I beat them to the punch. Almost all of my great VV finds have come at this time, and I never ever find anything on weekends anymore so I don't even bother going near the thrift stores on the weekend.

I usually just check whenever I'm near a place that has games.

Usualy every weekend I go to the local flea market. All of the Goodwill's and pawn shops haven't had much lately. So yeah, most of my finds nowadays are at the flea market.
