Alright, I'm stumped.

Received this in my inbox this morning:

I was hoping you guys could help me out with something if you aren't too
busy. I've been approached by an individual who is selling two Palmtex PVS
Super Micro units with a couple of games and was just wondering what you
know about this item? I know it's fairly rare, but how rare is it? Could
you tell me if it's collectible and if so, do you know anyone who might be
interested in buying one? He wants $400 each and without having any buyers
on the horizon I am not interested in pulling the trigger. Any information
you can offer on this item would be appreciated.

Anyone know about this system?

Never heard of it, but this came up from a google search.

PALMTEX

Super Micro (PVS), released in 1983. At least three carts : React Attack,
Aladdin's Adventures (pack-in) and Outflank. Also listed are Crystals of
Morga, Mayday, Mine Field, Spellbound and Star Trooper, but we don't
know if they were released or renamed. The 'cartridges' had layers of
color filters. The player saw color graphics although hardwarewise it was
all monochrome. Aladdin's Adventures game design and scenario by Dan
Shafer. Programming by Chuck Blanchard. Published 1983 Palmtex Inc.
Developed by Home-Computer Software Inc.

But you in all likelyhood already knew that. :)

Thanks! Maybe I should have been more clear.

I'm not so much in need of info on the system itself - I'm hoping someone can formulate an intelligent answer to the question I was presented with. I have no idea the value or if he's about to get a good deal or get screwed.

I don't think there are any experts out there, but IMHO...

If it's labelled Palmtex -- especially if box & docs are -- it's worth more than if labelled Super Micro.

I honestly don't know if it's worth $400 though -- is that for BOTH systems. or just one? If both, and/or everything was complete, working and immaculate, and/or included games that I didn't know about, I MIGHT pay that much. Otherwise I'd say the amount should be adjusted by half.

If he does bend, I might be interested, so feel free to pass on my info.

Also, I think I still have a couple of spare cartridges for this one (at least one title, multiple copies), so if anyone feels they're looking for any, let me know.
