These are some games I have loved:
Grand Theft Auto Series
Mafia
Max Payne series
No One Lives Forever series
Zelda series (earlier ones)
Ultima series (I'm old... I only played the first 4, but loved 'em)
Here are a couple that never really appealed to me:
Metroid Prime (I know, GASP!)
True Crime: Streets of L.A. (I've played some of it, but haven't gotten far...seems like a GTA clone)
Fighter games/Martial arts games
Here are a couple that I've played a lot and like, but don't enjoy as much as those in the first group:
Sims series (including the Tycoon games)
Vintage arcade games (DK Jr, Ms. PacMan, Time Pilot, etc)
Games with some degree of thinking/problem solving are nice.
Given that info, what games would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

GC:
Super Smash Bros. Melee (it may be a fighter, but there's lot's of Nintendo nostalgia in it)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Pikmin 1 & 2
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2
F-Zero GX (if you enjoy racing games)
Animal Crossing
Space Raiders
CV:
Ladybug
Pepper II
Frenzy
Gorf
Mouse Trap
Mr. Do!
Can't be of much help with PC. And don't feel odd, I didn't like Metroid Prime, either.

Lord of the Dungeon!
I'm certain that this is unavailable now, but where was LoTD first offered? Was it originally a CGE release? Homebrew?

Well, the online rarity guide says only 70 copies were released by "NAP" in 2001, so it sounds like some sort of homebrew.
I'll have to look up the Opcode rec, I don't see anything by them in the online guide... can you list some particular titles?
thanks for all the titles, especially for the rare stuff. I hate to pay a bundle and get a game with crummy gameplay.

Opcode sells his stuff on atariage. I think only sky jaguar is currently available. He also has his own website.

Holy cow!! I just went to that site... had no idea it existed. Thanks for the link! A place for Colecovision -- wow, I'm still shocked.
Any other cool sites like this? I know of Daniel Bienvenu's site, but he's not currently offering anything for purchase.

I thought he had Reversi for the CV?
