New Note to Secret Santa Participants:
Please contact me once you have sent your package..
I should have added this sooner, but I didn't think people would be sending these out quite yet! It's nice to know I'm not perfect :p
I would prefer a PM (that way I can keep track), but if you'd like, you can post to this thread as well. Thanks!
Some FAQs..
:x-mas: #1: Is there a value maximum/minimum set?
I haven't placed any value limits for a couple reasons, the main one being that people are apt to value certain items differently, ya know? Also, for others, it's a good chance for them to clean out some dupe items, regardless of value, so they might be willing to send extra. Good rule of thumb if you're REALLY stuck? Don't send something you wouldn't expect to get (or something you wouldn't have asked for) value-wise. Other than that, give to your heart's content. This was NEVER intended to be a shopping expedition, but more of a swapping-free-for-all. I'd suggest that next year, perhaps more options/less specifics should be listed, due to the amount of "I don't have a THING that my person collects!!!" emails I've gotten..
:x-mas: #2: When should I ship? And what about my name?
I didn't really expect this question to come up, since I figured the point was to get everything there by Christmas ;) In my opinion, it's better to ship early than late. I would SUGGEST shipping no later than December 16th, if at all possible, due to holiday overload at the post office, increased chances of snowstorms causing delays, etc, etc.
Yes, you should include your name on the package. I believe at least a return address is required by the post office. There's nothing wrong with this. It's part & parcel that you find out who your Secret Santa is. They need to know who they'll be pledging their first-born to.
:x-mas: #3: When am I supposed to open MY package?
So.. your Santa shipped early, it's ten days before Christmas, and you're DYING to know what's in the box. TOUGH LUCK! No.. seriously, we can't make you give it back if you open it early. That's your perogative. However, I would ASK that you at least refrain from posting about it and/or contacting your Santa to thank them (the PM system is JUST right for that!) until the 25th. I'd like to start up a thread where everyone can post about it if they'd like, but not before Christmas.
:x-mas: #4: I really, really, really, REALLY don't have anything to give to my person. What now?
If ANYONE is entertaining doubts that they will not be able to fulfill their end of the deal, they need to let me know ASAP so alternative arrangements can be made. All efforts will be made to provide you with more shopping options. And no, if you can't give, you won't recieve, either. I will make it my PERSONAL mission to hunt down, annoy, harass, ban, and otherwise make miserable the existance of any person that bails without notice. You have been warned. >:(
Last of all... All name matches were completely random. I did not match anyone by systems collected, location, gender, preference for womens underwear, or shoe size. I did not intend to match people. Any resemblance to Santa and Santee is purely coincidental. Please do not send milk through the mail, as it could spill, spoil, and/or otherwise ruin a perfectly good game. And remember to buckle up. Goodnight.
