God I'm so pissed at these guys. I ordered a Ganbare for Neo Geo Pocket from them on May 22nd and still haven't received anything. I requested a refund over a month ago and still haven't received anything. I call again today and what do they tell me? You'll PROBABLY have that refund by the end of the week. Why do people seriously do business this way.

Actually, they specifically said it was never mailed as that game is on backorder and they are still waiting to get more copies. But apparently they read the boards as right after I posted they sent my refund. That or some killer timing.
Just makes me mad that they sold me something not in stock and blew me off for 4 months. Sounds like a Buy-Rite tactic.

Add TheRage to that shit-list too. I still can't get in contact with them directly and they won't return my emails. I've ordered from them twice before, one good result, one not so good. Add a second for the "not so good" verdict.

I contunie from my previous thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82199) here.
I got reply today, 5 days after i sent the mail. They asked me what games i have ordered.. x_x I mean, they know my name, cant they check in their system what game i've ordered, why did they ask me? Doesnt seem very serious.

I got reply now, they didnt have it in stock.. as i thought.
I even asked if they had it before i placed the order because i knew the games was kinda old.
They said they just cancel my order, nothing about refund. Damn this is crazy. Really sux because they have (or atleast it listed) some other stuff i wanted too, but im not going to buy from the now.

wow how times change, back during the height of the Saturn import scene (1999-2001) TheRage was... well... all "the rage" with a SOLID reputation.
Let's not even start on BuyRite... lol

I bought from them some Animal Crossing figures a year ago for my wife for Christmas. They sent me the wrong ones. I emailed them and asked them what they'll do about it - they said they'll look into it. I've never heard back from them again despite repeated emails.

Why would a company charge your credit card on something they can't immediately ship anyway? Isn't that theft?

Any time you buy from TnJ you have to call them. Yes it sucks, but that's the only way to make sure everything is right (maybe). After visiting their two stores I can see why things get f'd up. Talk about 10 pounds in a 5 pound sack!

As far as I know it is not legal to charge someone's card until the item ships, unless they agree to it. At least, where I work, that is what I was told.

Yeah ToysNJoys still owe me $20 for some dreamcast game. I've emailed them, been promised refunds. Got nothing in return. I'll never deal with them again.

I agree with Funk Buddy here, especially if you have a problem. Nothing will get done until you call them. It sucks and that's why I won't deal with them again.

Alex was, at one point the man to talk to. It's been awhile since I bought anything from them, but if he's still there he'll get things done.

I'm pretty sure that was his name.

Alex Le I believe. I have dealt with them twice and each time it was hell.
I am from Hawaii. Here's my 1st story. I wont go into the 2nd as I would be basically writing a novel.
Ordered a New Project Phantasma for PS1, website said it was in stock. I ordered it. And BTW the shipping is riduculous because if you choose to pick it up they say in-store prices kick in which bring it up to the same price as shipped. So 5 days pass and no package, I call them and they say it will ship out today. 3 days pass and still nothing. I call them up and they tell me it's sold out, then I ask why did they charge my CC if it wasn't in stock. "I dunno". I asked for my refund, said they would process it today. It took 2 weeks for them to process my refund.
In short they are a bunch of idiots working there and I never liked them at all. Alex doesn't know anything about customer service at all each time I dealt with him.
Never again I said to myself, but thought to myself maybe they just had a n00b working there the 1st time. So I gave them a second try and what do you know, same results but far worse.
Now I am never buying anything from there again.

I bought one thing from them. I ordered a gift and gave it a decent amount of time to get there when I placed my order. I even popped for Express shipping to be on the safe side. I think it ended up taking them 2 weeks to process it and was sent priority. Arriving well after it was suppose to, but at least it did arrive.

Oh I forgot the funny part. During my email communication with the company I recieved at one point a reply titled: "RE: your order - "order #" RE: Possible Fraud Attempt." As if someone had forwarded my request to another employee to look into it as an attempted scam. Which fine whatever, my order was months old by the time I asked for a refund, probably looked fishy but it's fucking retarded to leave that in the heading you send to the customer. Sloppy customer service.

No that would require an International Toll Free Service # since Europe has a different calling plan. Usually it would be something like 001-400-9932-678

I would never recommend TNJ to anyone. They've received a fair amount of flack on the Macross World forums as they have repeatedly stiffed people on Macross toys.
How? Letting people order items, charging their CC's, and guess what? Item is out of stock. Never answers emails, etc.
I don't like to advocate mob violence....but I think a torch and pitchfork visit is in order with these assholes. :fist:

Sorry for bringing up a very old post, but I wanted to have all of the other bad deals read through along with mine for this company.
Recently, my wife purchased a GBA SP Famicom color system from their website for one of my Christmas presents. Their site, at the time of her purchase and long afterward, made no indication that the item was anything but new, in addition to everything else on that particular page. In fact, there was even a separate section of the site for used items.
So our credit card is charged and our item is supposedly shipped. After weeks, my wife contacts them, concerned that it was lost. They said that they had already sent it and that we should have received it already. A week later, we get a call from a random person about three hours away from where we live. She had received a package addressed to her, but when she opened it she saw my wife's name and address on the packing slip. Ok, so that would normally mean that the item was shipped to the wrong customer. In reality, this person never ordered a product from Toys N Joys, so how the company got their address is a complete mystery. My wife is relieved when the woman calls and offers to mail it to us AT HER EXPENSE! She was very thankful and relieved that it was not lost in the mail.
We get the package a few days later, and the item that was shipped was a metallic green GBA (the generic kind you can get at Target, among other places). My wife was furious, and immediately called the company. They apologized, and said that they must have shipped our product to the customer that was supposed to get the cheapo system. So my wife requested that they have the item shipped back and they ship the correct orpduct to us. They said that they were out of stock of the system that we ordered and didn't think they'd get any more (although their website has had the product for sale continuously since that day). THey said they would contact the person that got ours by mistake and hope that they send it back to the company. Well, I don't know about you, but as honest as I try to be, if I pay $80 for a GBA SP and get a $150 GBA SP instead, I'm not telling anybody.
So my wife, worried that the FedEx guy/girl would come to pick up the order to be sent back at a time when we weren't here, wanted me to be here when she was at work. My job permits me to work from just about anywhere, so I elected to stay home and listen for the FedEx guy/girl. After over a week of waiting and numerous phone calls to them wondering why FedEx never showed up, my wife got their FedEx account number and gave it to me so I could send the package to them. I arranged to send it back the next day, and tracked it until it arrived at their location.
After calling to confirm they received it, they said that the other customer did, in fact, send our product back and that they would send it out to us right away. Again, my wife was very relieved, and we waited a week for it to show up. When it finally did show up, my wife opened it in the other room and came back in to tell me that I would be very upset. I asked why, at that time not knowing exactly what she had ordered for me. She told me that she was certain the product she ordered was new, but it not only had a japanese sticker on the box that said it was used, but it had a large amount of scratches and paint worn off of it, not to mention the entire thing reeking of cigarettes. She offered to give it to me then so as not to have me disappointed on Christmas, and I was furious. To make certain that my wife ordered a new item, I checked their website, and every GBA SP listed indicated it would be "pre-owned".
So, being one to trust in my wife, I checked Google's cache of their GBA page. Sure enough, from 11/27/07, well after my wife porchased the product, the page makes no mention of ANY of the products being used. Check it out here.
http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:X9rMb_6VtKMJ:www.toysnjoys.com/access_gbasp.html+toysnjoys.com/access_gbasp.html&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=opera
After reading their return policy, I e-mailed them a message even longer than this one, demanding the actual new product or a full refund once I send the product back. I also tried calling all three of their phone numbers for 2 hours straight during their business hours, and the phone just rang. No response from them yet by phone or e-mail about the refund.
Basically, I'm thinking they realized at the time that they heard we got the wrong item, they panicked because they had no more of this product. They managed to find one, but it was used, so they went on their site before sending the item to us and made sure it said that it was used FOR THE SAME PRICE so that we had no argument. However, I'm not that stupid, and provided them with proof that they did not send us the product that we ordered.
Anyways, I hope our terrible experience with them will not only prevent you from purchasing anything from them, but also inspires you to tell any other collector that you know to not shop with them.

I ordered from them once, years ago. Snagged an NGPC and a bunch of games when they were on sale. They shipped uncharacteristically fast and everything was perfect. After reading about the experiences everyone else had with them I pulled a George Castanza, I will never shop there again.

Another sample of shafting to report of this worthless retailer:
My brother ordered me a Neo Geo Pocket Color with a bundle of games for what was to be an awesome Christmas gift in 2007. He placed the order over a month in advance, thinking it would be sufficient time for the package to arrive. However, the parcel didn't come until mid-January, and worse, the NGPC was defective. The screen was fubar'd and games were unplayable on it. My brother got in touch with the store through email and they agreed to replace the unit, so the NGPC was boxed up securely and sent back to Hawaii.
About a month later, the package arrives, and it's caved in from what appears to be a swift kick. Opening the box reveals that the NGPC is totally fucked. The contents of the parcel were completely unsecured - the boxed NGPC was placed inside a larger cardboard box with no packing material of any kind, allowing the handheld to rattle about and offering no support at all. Something must have collided with the package during transit and smashed it good.
My brother emails Toys 'N Joys and is understandable pretty pissed off. They promise to refund him his money through PayPal, but he never receives any such payback and his emails cease to being replied to. What motherfuckers.

Yeah, you can't trust ToysNJoys. I ordered a Power Stone 2 new from them years ago and of course I got a used copy. If it wasn't for the condition being perfect, I'd have gotten pissed when they didn't give me my partial refund (for the price difference). Don't do business with them, cuz they will charge for services undelivered and not make it right.
