Am I the only one who's noticed that some game developers no longer permit you to enter such initial combinations as "FUC," "FUK," "666," "ASS," and "SEX"? Capcom seems to be hellbent on keeping the scoreboards of its games squeaky clean.
If my name happened to be something like Fullerton Ulysses Cole, a Capcom game like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 does not keep a record of my initials; rather than having my score credited to FUK, CAP becomes the fighter of the day.
WHAT THE CAP?!? x_x

Uh...they still make games that let you put your initials in? Aren't they all big rig driving simulators?
Well, I've never had occasion to try to mess with high score lists. I'd go with my real initials, being as they are "EdO" ;)

Well, scoreboards are certainly less common now than they were in the 16 bit era of gaming, but they're usually featured in the fighting games that I find myself addicted to. Haven't played Guilty Gear XX Reloaded yet, though; I should jump on that sometime soon... @_@

Another thing that seemed to be taboo are 'apathy initials,' meaning most games won't let you put in 'AAA' anymore without changing it to something else (such as CAP or GGX). Just a thing I noticed when I was busy being overobservant of things that don't matter.

Sorry for the replicated reply. Browser problems....
Anyway, I've noticed that apathy initials you speak of. Perhaps game developers want the scoreboard entries to look a litte more personalized than "AAA" to give onlookers the impression that the game they created is SO great that no one would dare pass up the opportunity to log in his/her score.

You need to make sure you hit that post button one time, man. I've done it before, too...
