Collecting snes stuff sealed for 6 months I'm astounded at what I have to pay for the good stuff. It seems to increase daily. Not true in ps1, dreamcast, saturn. You have the added factory that a sealed ps1 game has a factory bar code and you know its been factory sealed. No such luck with snes. Why have so many new collectors entered the snes platform? Is this just a bubble or are snes games like chrono trigger going to keep rising sealed?

I don't think it's a fad or bubble, SNE (especially Japanese Super Famicom) is considered the best 2D, 16-bit system of all time, there're only so many games to go around, once they run out, prices go way up, a simple supply-demand rule in price theory. I wish I had the oppotunities to collect and stock up SNES games in the mid-late 90s but I was only a student, no money, later I was into collecting Neo-Geo.

I wouldn't even attempt collecting sealed SNES games, I know many people (store owners) who are so good at creating the official H seam on the shrinkwrap and resealing them, virtually indistinguishable with original factory seal. After all, cart based games are much more durable, if I'm to collect those, I'd just want games in great condition (especially manual and box), unlike Dreamcast games which a few scratches would affect reading the games.

Seriously, if you aren't going to open the game, who cares if it is resealed? If the outwards appearance of the box is good, then how would you know whether or not it is resealed? And why would it matter?
