I got this in a thrift shop for $1.99 today. There is no tabs on the top of the cart and there was standard not star screws in the cart when I opened it it was on a 72 pin converter. It looks to be a Famicom demo or test cart of sorts. If one of you could tell me exactly what I found I would be very happy, click on the links for some pics.

You've found a prototype congrats, very nice indeed. Technically it's a Famicom prototype with a converter in a NES case. But most people including myself would call it a NES prototype.

Ace.

EDIT
As for value it's hard to say exactly as prices have fallen a bit. Ebay removing any proto auctions doesn't help, but i'd say anywhere from $100 to $160.

Yeah, what Ace said. Prototype prices really began to drop when armyx sold that boatload of prototypes on Ebay a few years back.

Nice find though.

There was a Spanish seller on eBay. His username was Armyx. He had 100s (literally) of prototypes for NES, SNES, and Gameboy. Some of the games were released, some were unreleased. After he started listing his games (about one a week for each console week upon week), prototype prices began to drop, to $100 or less for licensed prototypes, simply because they were not nearly as rare as they once were.

A Spanish seller? How could he have lots of prototypes?

wow interesting perspective variance between the proto history explaination and the person who had no idea.

A little copmare and contrast never hurts. Hmm I should look at the photos of it now, Ta TA For Now!

ArmyX owns a Spanish shop, most of the games came from the official Spanish Nintendo magazine or something to that nature I believe back in the day. Nice Xenophobe beta, thanks for the sale!

I remember that on Nesplayer.com they had a lot of protos found on Spain also. Sure they came from Hobby Consolas, the oldest magazine there.

I was hoping you would let me know that you received it, Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. I also never thought that this topic would gain any more interest. :D
