Help! Japanese Bandai Intellivision rarity check!

I have the opportunity to purchase a complete in the box Bandai Intellivision from japan. I looked in the rarity guide and it wasn't there so I thought i'd ping this group to see if anyone knew anything about it.

It's actually quite expensive (it also comese with 10 oxed games) so i just wanted to make sure this thing was as one-of-a-kind/desirable as i think it is before I go get it.

I wouldn't expect it to be a one of a kind, seeing how Bandai was distributing it. Rare, yes. Good find.

As for the name...are you sure you're not thinking of the Bandai Arcadia 2001 (http://www.digitpress.com/faq/arc2001.txt)? I'm pretty sure you're not, since the Intellivison did indeed get a Bandai release as you say, but I'm just checking ('sides, it's cool just to mention this system - Bandai was apparently releasing two consoles which were competitors in their original market!)

No, it's definitely the Intellivision. The box looks pretty much the same but with kanji characters on it - and the games are unmistakeable since they are actually in american boxes with jaopanese manuals attached to the back.

I figured it was rare, but $300 rare? Overall, i'd say everything is in VG condition. the boxes are all in solid shape with a little wear.

And no, I am not from the GP32 boards. This is the only board where i have used this name (i couldn't think of anything else and i needed to ask about this system. )

That's actually a pretty good price; I've seen those go on Yahoo Japan for quite a bit more than that (last one I saw was a loose console with 3 or 4 games).

Now to the practical question; other than the box and a Bandai Electronics moniker in the upper right hand corner, it's identical to the regualr Mattel Intellivision. If you're not that hardcore on Intellivision, I'd probably pass on it.

$300 for any system that old, out of Japan, boxed and with games is really not a bad price. Good find!

I don't know how to search for completed auctions on Yahoo Japan but there was a boxed one on there the other day that has ended. There's a loose one on there now. I thought they go for about $200 but I could be wrong.
