In honor of 2600 week, I was planning on buying a bunch of arcade ports for 2600. Is there a list somewhere that has only arcade games, or can we maybe make one.

Here are the ones I can think of off of teh top of my head:

pacman
ms. pacman
asteroids
defender
dig dug
missile command
joust
mario bros.
star wars: arcade
Roc'n Rope
Time Pilot
Mr. Do
Mr. Do's Castle
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Xevious
Q*Bert
Q*Bert's Qubes

help me out please. any that get added by a post, I will put in this list so that not only I, but others can have a descent list for it, and not have to scroll through posts to get the list.

EDIT: I added from the next post. The more the marrier. This list is mostly for my own, personal record, but I know there are others that would like this info as well.

I made a list eight or nine years ago, I'll see if I can dig it up. It was 98-99% complete or so IIRC. :)

damn, thanks dp.

i didn't even know that warlords was an arcade game. awesome.

sorry if this had been brought up before, but as you could see from the list i had, i needed a little help. i thought that it would be cool to pick up a bunch of arcade ports for 2600 for the 2600 week.

they made double dragonf ro 2600, that rocks. i know it won't be as good as its nes counterpart, but that still rocks

I must be the only person on earth that prefers 2600 Double Dragon to NES Double Dragon. I suck at both of them, though. Heh.

Just remember.. 2600 Double Dragon IS finishable. A couple of people have done it. But you may think while trying that it's impossible ;) (..which for most of us, it essentially is) :P

That's madness!

Surely you've played the games by Mythicon. Or Sssnake by Data Age. Or Coconuts by Telesys. Or RealSports Soccer... these games don't just play bad, they also look bad. At least Double Dragon has some graphics!

I think E.T. is a good 2600 game actually. It aint the greatest of course... but it kills a lot of the other ones lemme tell ya.

Not even close.

You can actually PLAY (and to some extent, enjoy) both of those games.

Double Dragon is an exercise in sado-masochism.

Not in my book. :)

Those games are bad, no question. But I'd expect them to be bad.

Double Dragon was an Activision game. So I'd expect it to be good.

I'll play Coconuts and RS Soccer any day of the week over Double Dragon. And maybe - just maybe - those Mythicon "games" too. LOL

2600 Double Dragon: just say NO. ;)

See... I see Double Dragon the same way I see E.T. and Pac-Man. Terribly disappointing but not terrible games.

Guess we'll have to disagree for a change.

PS you are wrong, of course. :P

You know, my fiancee, as well-meaning as she was, recently bought me the VCS version of Pac-Man. I can honestly say that this is probably the worst game I have ever played. It's not because the game itself stinks...it's relatively close to Pac-Man; but I think what bugs me is the fact that I know what Pac-Man is supposed to be like (or at least has the potential to be...that's a gentler way of putting it.) and it's pretty apparent that whoever programmed that POS played Pac-Man once while on acid and then tried to recreate the board from memory.

So, mr. Arcade Antics, I totally see your point about DD being a Activision game, and you therefore expecting quality from it. :D

I have to agree with AA here. Double Dragon is unplayable. Pac Man is horrible, and horribly disappointing, but playable.

There are some Atari games that are so bad, I can't figure out what I am, what the premise is, or what I'm supposed to "do". This almost never happens in Atari-produced games...it's usually those Mythicon, Data Age, Froggo type of deals. The only thing that DOESN'T make Double Dragon one of those games is the fact that it's Double Dragon; I already know the style of gameplay and what is supposed to happen. Otherwise, it's pretty much incomprehensible...I'm a guy running around, but what am I supposed to do?

Is it the worst 2600 game ever? IMO not all by itself, but I put it in that class of games that just cannot be played at all, and it happens to be in good (bad) company on this particular system, with probably 20 or 30 games that just make no sense at all. Not bottom of the barrel, but under the barrel, buried in dirt.
