Above is the link to what may be the worst fan site I've ever seen.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I seem to find a lot of awful fan sites devoted to Alex Kidd or Master System games (I'm a big fan of both). I don't think I've ever found one that I would even call decent. I don't know how old these people are, but considering the age of the game and the system, I'd assume most of them would be in the 20's or 30's you would think they would have had time to get a few things right. Why do they always call the game "Alex the Kidd?" - I know Alex looks small but that doesn't excuse dozens of people adding in an extra word for the hell of it. Have they spent more than two seconds playing the game, looking at the box, title screen, cartridge label? His surname is Kidd - why is that such a hard concept to grasp?

The review of the game seems to indicate no thought process was put into the site at all.

Will If you are reading this your obviously not asleep yep lol

Will ALEX THE KIDD RULEZ if ya ask me !!!!
1. The graphics are good although they could be way better
2. The story line is really really good ( thats something
games dont seem to have anymore )
3. The music isn't the best but you learn to love it :)
4. It has a good amount of levels
5. The speed boats, motorbikes and helicopters make it more interesting

Over all the game is a very good game and i rate it 97/100
Anyway to go back CLICKHERE!!

Seriously... I wouldn't even expect that on GameFAQs - this isn't someone who just dediced to write a review on someone's site - he "liked" the game enough to base a site around it and that is the best he could come up with? The graphics are good but could have been way better? I guess that accounts for the 3 points shy of perfection the game got.

I'll probably get a dozen replies saying I'm taking this too seriously, maybe I am, but I think fan sites are as important as, say, historical books - they're supposed to preserve something - keep something alive. It'd be like if someone wrote a Civil War book and said:

OMG is was an awsome civil war.good guns and stuff. Could have been way better though. The British drummers were weird ast first but the sound grew on me in the end. OMG.

The third worst fan site in the universe is a Klingon page devoted to fetishism for Taru Taru wearing Tribble skins. Once during a board meeting of our neighbor hive mind's city council the annual revenue slide was replaced by various phrases spoken out loud in Klingon from the site's appreciative texts. The only survivors of this tragedy were spawn too small to comprehend the words and a gardener who was accidentally locked in his aluminum-roofed shed.

The second worst fan site in the universe is, strictly speaking, unknown at this time but it has been alluded to during the heat of the Great Patriotic Enfranchisement crisis.

The first worst fan site in the universe was known to be a Human page; the public was blocked from a potential tragedy it when a zombified human information manager went on a rampage with a lead pipe in the server room in opposition to "the discord."

Thankfully, the final remnants of this fan site were blasted into inexistence sometime between the onset of the humans' last World War and the final destruction of earth.

It would have to be Japanese. There are so many text-based, ugly-ass fan sites, it's sickening.

I've seen some pretty bad ones, and most of them are nes related. After a perusal through many of the nes fan sites and forums on the web, one could come to the conclusion that 98% of all nes players are pre-pubescent 11 year-olds with an IQ just approaching double digits, and a knowledge-base to match. It saddens me that, at this point in time, creating a normal/mature nes forum on the net is all but impossible.

Well.. a topic I can sink my teeth in...

Personally some of my earlier fansites sites were pretty bad... but I've been doing them for nearly 8 years now. Planet Dungeon Siege (http://www.planetdungeonsiege.com) was the last I worked on... I started the fan site that grew in to PDS in Dec. 1998. I quit working with them in Jan. of this year and I've not yet found another game that interests me enough to dedicate the time and energy to help a community grow around it. In fact you may actually find a "Historian" in the game if you look hard enough. At this point I could almost teach a course on web community building... especially in a situation where the news and details trickle in fromn the powers that be... I just don't understand why some companies choose to block out the fansites. Communities, Knowledge Communities are the future. Just look at the one here. Not one of us will ever hold as much knowledge as the whole of us... When it comes to Video Games this community generally never gets stumped by a question.

Sorry I'm ranting..

In a nutshell... Good or bad, at least someone is trying to pass his knowledge on (however flawed in presentation it might be).

Goddamn. Every time I see a shitty fansite (or any large volume of poor grammar) I just want to go on a stabbing frenzy with a soldering iron.

http://nesland.vze.com --- site is down right now, but it is a pretty horrible NES site. The owner stole most of his content from other sites. NES Forums (http://s8.invisionfree.com/nesforums) is also a disgrace to any true NES fan. The kiddies there are mostly biased and have power crazed elite inner circles who target specific people yet let 13 year old idiots post useless crap. They also know nothing about the NES.

Somehow I knew the text was going to be center-justified before I clicked.

But really, the text is still readable! What that site needs is an obnoxious, noisy, multicolored tiled background that blends in with three-quarters of the text on the page. Then it would be truly terrible.

Oh, and the terrible MIDI music is missing, too.

I've got a "SMS fan-site"

But it DOESN'T suck.

Click my nonsensical signature, go to the games page, go to the upstairs game room, and then click the SMS.
