i collect mvs, and i would say its a good deal.
when you say box and instructions tho, do you mean the carboard box with label, and mini marquee, and move list?
or has this seller put them in shock boxes and made covers and booklets for them ??

that's WTF expensive. say World Heroes and KOF '98 are way under $15/cart on eBay, right now. Somebody else is gonna have to comment on the boxed value. My left elbow hurts.

Box worth it for you?

Whatchas gonna do with dupes?

When you gonna do your own research? LOL

i was figuring that if they are boxed and complete, and he sold the other 2 kof 98's that might not be a horrible trade, but he still never answered if they are in shock boxes or not. so i guess if shipping isnt included it might not be that decent a trade.

Those games are all basically worthless. Only Blazing Star and KOF would realistically fetch the $50 he's asking. Samurai and World Heroes games are a dime a dozen, complete or not.

I picked up my mint Sam Sho cart for $10. I passed up on a mint World Heroes cart for $10.

Moving to the video game forum. These "price-check" threads don't belong here.

Uh, are you sure about that, Ed? If 98 is THAT cheap on eBay, it's gotta be a bootleg. Hell just the fact that we're talking MVS games on eBay already pretty much says that they're bootlegs... I've stopped buying MVS games on eBay unless I KNOW that the seller doesn't sell bootlegs (which pretty much leaves... mdgames... and that's it :/ ).

Anyway, last winter I spent about $55 for a loose, legit KOF98. $50 is about how much Blazing Star goes for. For Last Blade, I'd say about $35. World Heroes and Samurai Shodown 1 & 2 are among the cheapest MVS games. I'd say they're worth $10-20.

Keep in mind that those prices are for LOOSE carts, and American carts are worth more than Japanese carts.

The only game in there worth $50 is Blazing Star. Simple as that.

KoF 98 and Last Blade are closer to $35ish at this point, while the rest are $10, give or take. This "box and instructions" business sounds sketchy to me, since that could mean complete kit or it could mean some photocopied crap in a shipping box.

Regarding bootlegs on ePay - there are far more legit carts there than you think.

Blazing Star sells for over $50 loose, and complete....easily $100. KOF 98 and Last Blade are also in the $75+ range for complete kits, especially if they have matching serial numbers. The other kits are worth UP to $50 if they have COMPLETe kits in good shape. Trashed..doubtful. Depends....I think it's a fair price, but not an insane deal.

I think it's a fair price,..

As long as they're kits.

Good deal if they are Full matching serial number minty kits..
Which I doubt.

Does he have pics..?

Also...Is the seller reputable/good feedback...etc..

Damn good deal if these are all kits and in decent shape.

A complete Last Blade kit with REAL matching serials (remembering that many of the Last Blade kits have a bonus "1" in them) would easily catch $150+

Blazing Star I just listed on eBay topped out at $130. Didn't sell since the reserve was $150 which is reasonable for that kit.

You'd be surprised how much a complete SS2 kit gets. It's really hard to find a nice SS2 kit since it was so popular in arcades. Long life in the cabinet = short shelf life of the box and kit contents. Same goes for KoF98.

But these are most definitely not complete kits which makes $425 a ripoff.
$280-300 tops.

anyone know of a list of sketchy sellers to avoid on ebay for MVS carts?

i passed up on a KOF '98 cart for 14.99 with scratched off serials...the seller was in canada, and his email address was @yahoo.hk. also, lots of his game lots had to be shipped from overseas...heh...

sketchy?

carolescollectables

that Canadian yahoo.hk seller might be yaton6262. I've dealt with him before - won a Last Blade cart but didnt work, sent it back and a replacement & shipping refund.

He does sell boots though, not sure if they're on eBay. I asked him if he had any Metal SLug carts that he'd be willing to sell (along with my LB), replied with "yes, have a shipment coming in but are non-original"

yeah, i think that's his user name. at least he was forthcoming about things being non-original though.

i've seen quite a few under carolscollectibles as well that looked fishy...

thanks!! :D
