I'm going in a few days to pre order this game cause it looks and sounds like it's going to be a great gunstar heroes esque 2D shooter, but it's coming out for PS2 and GC and I'm not sure which one to get. Any advice from anyone who's played or seen the game in action the the two systems?

I'd go with GC, but that's the system I own!

I am also buying it. I am getting it for cube cause ima cube nut (see sig.). I don't know how much of a difference there is going to be though. Cube usually gets the worst of multi-platform games (except BMX XXX which wasnt very good anyway) so PS2 will probably have some type of advantage. Hope not though.

This game will also be released for the X-Box in January of next year.

Okay, I finally gave in and decided to look this up. For a long time I'd been hearing about Alien Hominid. Not knowing what the heck it was. Then while Googling and browsing a site full of links to cool shit, I found a link to the site and the news of a console version..
I clicked the first link. Watched the video. My jaw dropped. The game looks kick ass! I never played the Flash version as I just know it'd run super slow on my computer, but seeing the video of it in action tells me I must get this game. I don't know if I will on the day it comes out, but definitely soon. I will be getting the Cube version as long as it isn't screwed up. It just FEELS like a Cube game. I don't know why. But Cube it is.
I'd prefer $20, but $30 is great. It's great to see independent game creators getting their big break. I would have never expected a Flash game would become a real console game. very cool.
I just hope it isn't too hard. Or at least has cheats to make it easier. I'm sure I'll suck at it. *cough*
For some reason I really like the art style. All hand drawn. Seems like a sort of cartoon more than a Cel Shaded 3D game does.
I decided to bump this thread since it seemed the best choice out of the three I saw in Search.

Bring this badboy back from the dead. Anyone get it yet? What are your impressions? I picked it up but left it in my friends car.

I am going to guess you got it for GCN aswell. So i would like to hear if there are differances from system to system if anyone has picked it up for PS2.
I think the Xbox version comes out soon as well.

Wait, wait, wait, I thought the PS2 was the system that got the worst versions of multiplatform games.... In most reviews of multiplatform games I've seen, the PS2 version had the lowest score.
Have I been fooled or have I not seen enough reviews?

No, for the most part you are right. Most multi-platform games tend to be best on the Xbox and weaker on the PS2, while most gamecube games fall somewhere in the middle.

Excactly.
With a couple expcetions. I think Mega Man Collection is MUCH better on the PS2 then the GC.

well, mainly because the fire and jump buttons get reversed on the GC version :help:

And also because of the remixed music you could enjoy on the PS2 version, and a better extra, IMHO.

I actually got both versions (long story). I really didn't notice any significant differences other than load times. Definately shorter on the GC. Not much else to say really. Either way, it's a kick-ass game.

I'll probably end up ordering a copy after the holidays. I REALLY want it, but I need to stop spending money on myself and buy some gifts. @_@

I don't wanna know that the Cube version is screwed up. I just want confirmation that the Cube version is playable. That's the one I'd get.
Aw, hell. Just tell me. Which version is better and why? Curious. Thanks.

buy it new. It will be the next crono trigger (in terms of rarity).

chrono trigger isnt rare at all.
How can a multiplatform game be rare?
I bet it will be under $10 in no time.(like most games)

Well, Chrono Trigger is rare in the sense that prices are high. Though there are many copies, everybody wants it.

I just got this game imported from Gamestop with a real arcade controller. And I have to say wow! :D This is the freshest game I've played in a while. It's got the pace and fun of Vietiful without the pretence of it's 'artfulness' (quote: Hideo). I ahve to say tat the arcade stick really adds to it as well.
BTW: I got the 'Cube version 'cos it feels like a 'Cube game to me too :)
The only downer was being charged an extra £20 for import tax - WTF?!

I picked it up Sat (finally) for the cube as well. I played it for about 40 minutes or so and I really like it. yes there are some cheap deaths, it's kinda hard and all you do is pretty much press the A button repeatedly. But it's a twich game, and I love the art style and music. To me it was definately worth the $30, but I'm a fan of the genre.
