2 months ago I ordered a new 72pin for my aging NES. I chose a dealer on ebay that had 780+ positive transactions and no negs. 2 months later I have yet to receive the item. I have emailed him three times politely asking for confirmation if the item shipped. The first email back just contained, "Yep". The second time I explained the situation he sent back an email saying,"it was sent". The third time he didnt even respond. Funny thing is I checked today and he has 1 neg and 2 neutrals on his latest sales. One of the transactions is identical to mine. I think in all honesty that it could have got lost in the mail. Post delivered to my house must go through a door slot and if it doesn't fit the postman leaves in on the doormat. It may have been taken..although in 13 years I have never lost any packages that I know of. Anyway should I burn this guy with a neg? He left me quite positive feedback. Do I leave him neutral feedback? Should I just ignore it? I'm only out 9 bucks or so...what do you think?

If he deserves a neg., he deserves a neg. I would give him one more chance to respond first though...if his feedback rating is any indication he should be willing to work with you. If you don't hear from him after a few more days, leave a neg.

Ditto. I mean 2 months is a very long time to wait for something. If he just keeps ignoring you then he definately deserves a neg. If I was that guy and I did actually send it out and it never got there I would send another free of charge.

email him one last time saying you still didnt get it and will leave a negative within 48 hours if he doesnt respond. if he doesnt respond in 48 hours leave one....if he does respond saying it was shipped or will be shipped, then give him no more than 1 1/2 weeks. if you dont get the package after he said it was shipped, leave a negative.

unless you actually get the package, he deserves a negative...so leave one, and help others to not get burnt by this guy also....not leaving a negative stops other people from knowing that he may be a bad seller.

I would agree also. Although, I would send another email (with a delivery confirmation) and explain in full detail everything that transpired including 3 attempts already to get a response. Give him another chance to make you a satisfied customer, reflect on his feedback being a deciding factor in purchasing from him and then inform him that by such and such date, if you have not received the item or a refund then you will leave neg / neutral feedback.

perhaps this may prod him along....

I've waited - still waiting - for something; I know people have issues sometimes.

Neg feedback on eBay is a joke. You give it, that's asking to be negged back.

Sellers should be forced to leave feedback first...but I'm sure there would be exceptions.

My suggestion - put them on the blacklist if you want.

If they pull through then there's no problem. If they don't, then shadow their auctions and warn off bidders if you feel that strongly (...not feasible).

First post I've ever done in a sling, btw.

On forced seller feedback - only if they ARE going to do it.

They'd try to set up conditions, and of course there's feedback revisions...those should be cut for sellers...but then you have to think about a seller who's had funds reversed or a check bounce.

Feedback is dumb and broken. People put too much emphaisis on it.

yeah, they said it already.

one time i had a guy go to college and forget about my game, he came back for break and then sent it. he got pissed that i loeft him a negative even though i got teh game in perfect condition. you might as well wait it out for a little bit and allow him to respond
