be careful, and have a tissue or something near to wipe up excess moisture.

I use it on my boxes too, I have come to find different boxes take the alcohol different ways, just go light at first, most likely there will be no smearing.

Pfft.
If you can find a can of Bestine at a local hardware store (or similar fine shopping establishment), then that's what you need to get.
That stuff will take Sharpie right off a cardboard box and not damage the box at all.
One can of that will last you for years too.

A 50/50 mixture of Clorox and Parson's Ammonia does wonders. You can also use store brand generic equivalents, of course.
Make sure to close the windows in your room first, as a slight breeze or air movement might make the mixture evaporate too fast to be useful.

I just had one of those exceedingly rare attacks of conscience, and wondered if someone might actually try the above formula.
It's a joke. Don't do it.
The result of mixing those products is very toxic fumes. Kills housewives on occasion. Yes, I'm serious.
I know that this is extremely common knowledge, but you never know what a random citizen does or does not know about. I would probably feel a fleeting twinge of guilt if some kid glanced at that thread and thought "Hey! Two cleaning agents combined=super cleaner! I'll try it!"
Ahh! I feel better now.
(Goes back to gluing dollar bills and bottles of whiskey to railroad tracks, in plain sight of bums..)

Or maybe a little cyanide will do the trick.
Whatever happened to water, guys? LOL
