I hope the section I worked on is helpful to everyone. If anyone sees anything that I missed that should be on, let me know.

Could you change the text to red or something.
Blue on black isnt very easy to read.

Could you change the text to red or something.
Blue on black isnt very easy to read.

The newsletter is designed to look like the rest of DP, with white text on a black background and red rollover on the links.

I'm assuming you're talking about the links on the page and not the majority of the text. There are some issues with some mail clients not picking up the coding for the links which causes them to default to the default setting which is blue instead of white.

If you could let me know which email client you are using (i.e. outlook, outlook express, gmail, yahoo, etc.), it would be appreciated, so I can try to work out the problem.

Thanks!

Some of the release dates were missing, though.

Still, all in all, a GREAT work for a first effort! Keep up the good work! :D

I loved it and it was put together nicely. On a side note, is there any way the releases for the main systems could be organized by systems instead? I still like the chrono order, but maybe have them in chrono order by systems?

Agreed, it's very very awesome but it would be better in chronological order by system than in alphabetical.

Same feelings on the system order instead. But all in all its great. :D

Thanks for the input everyone. Please, keep it coming. We want this to keep getting better and better, and the best way to do that is for you to tell us what you like, dislike, and want.

izret - I got your email and I see what you mean. I'll definitely work on figuring out a way to take care of that for the next issue. I have a pretty good idea what happened.

I've been doing some thinking about the release list as well. It just wasn't cutting it for me. I came up with an idea that might make it better, so let me run it by you to see what you think. :)

I want to break down the releases by system. Basically a separate table for each of the systems. From the responses here, chronological order seems to be a popular request, so each of those tables would be sorted by date.

Opinions?

That's a good idea! Well kind of :)

How about adding an additional column that describes preorder goodies (if any)? Also, linking the game/publisher to their respective page could be helpful.

Pissed to hear about the Infogrames/Atari stuff, but otherwise I'm pleased!

Kaine, check your spam filter. Mine got dumped in my gmail spam bucket, where it was promptly rescued and restored to inbox status. Great job! The only complaint I had seems to have already been addressed (chronological order of release dates). Great job, great value (free)!

DP Wire comes from digitalpress@email.com

I think that may have to be changed though. I know lots of people have @email.com accounts blocked since it's a webmail/forwarding service often abused.

Hmm...

Maybe your subscription didn't take. You can try signing up again. You will get an error message if your account is already there.

You can also PM me your email address and I can look for it on the list. Maybe there was a typo in it or something. Do you remember getting the confirmation email?

What e-mail address are you signing up with? I can check to see if you're on the distribution. My guess is it's being blocked on your side. Nothing I can do about that, but I can at least confirm it if you answer this.

It's not Sisko, I just double-checked. Dreams, if you can send it again I'll keep checking my Bulk folder to see if it floated into there by accident.

I've got another e-mail, if you're able to change my subscription email to it without me resigning up, I can PM you if need be.

Ok, I'll send it out here shortly, probably around lunch time.

We can't change your email address in the system however. To change email addresses, we will have to sign you up again with the new email address.

The DP Wire is distributed by an automated batch email system. To send an individual email after the fact is tedious and time consuming.

That being said, at 5:00 today eastern time (about 3 hours from the time stamp on this post), I will send out a copy to anyone who requests one by PMing me the email address that they would like it sent to. After that, I will no longer be able to send issues out individually. All future issues will only be distributed to people on the list at the time of publishing - which is currently set for every other Saturday. If you wish to continue receiving them, please sign up on the list - the link is in my signature. Believe me, you'll want to be on the list.

Thanks for your cooperation. :)

SegaAges - I will need you to PM me your email address as well.

I'm sorry to resurrect such an old and dead thread, but i figure id rather do this than make a new one... anyway, heres my comment/question: i MISS DP wire. what happened to it? i loved it, the release dates, interviews, new you can use, preorder goodies, all that and more -- all awesome!

i was a subscriber since issue 1.04 (11/13/04) maybe even earlier (i mightve deleted them from my inbox) and the last issue i got was 2.24 (2/11/05) again, there mightve been a later one delivered but this is hte last in my inbox.

so, what happened to it? i tried going to www.digitpress.com/mailform.html but that no longer seems to work, and my last issue has no mention of it being hte last issue. will there be a revival or am i just lost somewhere? id love to see it again, and if anything i would love to help create it again.

It basically fell apart from a combination of lack of participation and the lack of time to put it all together. We took what was to be a hiatus and ended up just not coming back. We've tossed around the idea of starting it up again but haven't been able to come up with enough interested parties to help pull it together.

It was a lot of fun. If it's something that a lot of people would like to see come back and we can get the needed help, I don't see why we couldn't bring it back. Of course, it would all need Joe's blessing. :)

Naturally you have my blessing!

And I'm more available now than I was in December 2005, a month after I opened the store - so let me know where you need help, I can fill in.
