Hi folks,
well by now you've hopefully downloaded our "psychOpedia", a complete list of games by manufacturer. While the listings are really good, it's gonna take forever for us to fill in some info on the manufacturers themselves. Lots are already filled in but many many more need entries.

http://www.digitpress.com/dpsightz/covers/cov_dpg7_p.jpg

I'm listing the "missing descriptions" below (over 700!) so there's a lot to choose from. If you can write a decent paragraph or two summarizing what that manufacturer contributed to the industry and/or it's origins, I'd be happy to credit you for the information in the inside cover of the book next edition. Naturally this happens only if I use it - but as you can see, we have an awful lot of ground to cover here!

Let me know if you're interested in writing any of these descriptions:

OOOOO Technos! If I knew how to write worth a shit I'd apply but if you need COLD, HARD info let me know.... :?

NoahsMyBro

I've never written anything before, but I think I could do it well, IF I had the information. As opposed to michael, I don't have the cold, hard facts.

I'm glad to take part however. Should we just try and dig up whatever info we can and cite the sources, or do you have the info already? I assume you don't have the info already, or you would be able to do this without us.

Steve

OK, I've had a few volunteers, so let's get this organized.

Portnoyd is going to take on the NES publishers from this list.

Queen of Felines is going to be given an "assignment pack" of companies from me. Probably a dozen or so to work on.

NoahsMyBro (and anyone else interested in this), you can choose for yourself or leave it up to me, just let me know how many you want and even from what system/era you'd be most interested in.

I can probably take some of the C64/UK ones... just have to go through and decide which ones are possible...

TheRedEye
11-26-2002, 06:36 PM
I'll take Sachen if portnoyd doesn't want to do it. He'd probably willingly hand it over to me anyway...

OK Update time!

TheRedEye will do Sachen.

ClubNinja will do Sega.

Kid Ice will do Psygnosis.

Mayhem will do the C64 ones (can you give me a list or should I gather them from our database, Mat?).

Keep 'em coming, gang! I really appreciate the input here.

I can do the C64 ones I know about Joe... that won't be all of them however. And a few (such as Sega) will cross over into better sections that other people will no doubtly do cos they know more ;)

I'll run down the list above and jot which ones I can write about...

digitalpress

OK so far I've received Kid Ice's Psygnosis preface... and that's ALL I've gotten! When can I expect everyone else? Let me know, thanks.

Mayhem

Busy, busy, busy... I've picked out the ones I can do, will go write something stuff... shortly :D

Joe, I've selected a small bunch of companies. I should be good doing a good chunk of that today (I don't work Fridays).

digitalpress
12-06-2002, 07:28 AM
Excellent, Sarah - can you let me know which ones you're covering in advance so I don't have overlaps?

UPDATE: I've received approximately 50 from Portnoyd (pretty much all of the NES developers), and I've received Psygnosis from Kid Ice.

@Stark: if you want to take RARE feel free. The existing entry is pretty "lite".

ALSO NOTE TO CONTRIBUTORS: I'll be putting together a bit of a preface page for the "advance edition" of the Guide and the psychOpedia, where your names will appear in the credits. I really do appreciate the help. Every extra hand works on a project of this magnitude!

Thanks again, all!

Well I'm off work tomorrow... I can see about writing some copy... I hope! Lady Jaye... I was gonna do Gremlin and Epyx, but you can try your hand to take some of the possible number of my plate :)

Send 'em along when you're ready. I've been doing some updates to the credits of the new materials as you may have noticed - I'll be happy to add you to that "new crew"!
