so i seem to be unable to find a couple of pieces of information on the original gameboy, and i was hoping someone here could help me out....

first off, the original launch date (i know it was in july 1989, at least i'm pretty sure... but i can't find the exact date).

secondly, does anyone happen to know what the largest cartridge memory size for the original gameboy?

thanks for any help!

nubunga's ambition (sorry the spellings so crappy) was the largest to my knowlage they crambed the cart with historical stats for the game to remain historical correct (or something like that) i think (could be wrong) was 64k.

The game Tetris was released on June 13, 1989 (according to Gamefaqs). Tetris was available as a launch title, so I would say that is the day that the Game Boy was introduced.

Wasn't Alleyway, Super Mario Land, Tennis, and CastleVania Adventure launch titles too?

The launch titles were Alleyway, Baseball, Tennis and Super Mario Land and Tetris was the pack-in. I don't have the exact date, but it was the first half of August '89.

The dates listed on Gmaefaqs are completely inaccutare, as they show Alleyway as 4/20/89 for example.

Well, I have a bunch of 512k Gameboy roms... including all three Donkey Kong Land games, Super Mario Land 2 & 3, Samurai Shodown, FIFA '96 and a bunch of others... there may be larger ones, but I haven't found them. There are Gameboy Color games that get much larger than that though (I have some that are 4MB).

Wasn't Solar Striker a launch title as well?
