Those multi carts are more about personal worth than absolute "value", so if the games are good for you then it was worth it. That said, in many cases such multi-carts have many repeats, so it is unlikely that there are truely 260 games, but there are undoubtedly a bunch.

The most lucky part of your acution win however was that ebay didn't take down the auction. They often take off auctions that contain such pirated items... :)

EDIT: looks like Ruudos beat me on some of that. :)

Got the cart... it opens with a menu screen with Adv Island music in the background and a list of the 260 games. Starnge - the last 100 games are all duplicates with trainers. Strange2 - All logos are erased. Was playing exitebike and the nintendo banner on the backboards is gone. Neat cart :)

I bought this 260-in-1 cart earlier today, and can back Mr. Faxanadu's words -- it's a very good compilation. Great for rediscovering key arcade games of the early-to-mid 1980s...

Ebay must not be perfect when it comes to Pirated games, because I bought a Super Mario Bros 2 (Japanese version) famicom cart yesterday for 1 dollar on ebay, and it is a pirate cart. I think ebay just trys to do away with the huge number multicarts, and doesn't try as hard or normal pirated Famicom games.

I completely agree with that statement. I've sold a multicart on eBay (for a 1 day duration) without any fuss. I think the reason why so many pirated copies are getting past eBay (especially the obvious Street Fighter carts) would be that the auctions are worded carefully. If you mention that you're selling a "Polystation III", they'll rub it off the site almost instantly.

Honestly, it shouldn't matter if they allow those carts on auction (multi or pirated) because they're not the focus of Nintendo's market currently. Thank goodness eBay is a bit more lax now.

You guys should really check out the European eBay sites. I have bought many Famicom & NES clones as well as pirated cartridges on there, and never have I come across an auction that was removed by eBay. I think it may have something to do with piracy laws in the US that forces eBay to remove these listings there.

As for the 260-in-1, the auction is no longer available, so I'm not able to see the cart/label, but there is a particular 260-in-1 NES multicart that pops up quite frequently on the German/Dutch/Belgian eBay sites (as well as in the wild)....in varying cartridge colors, but always with the same label. It's good to know that there are 106 unique games on there though...most of the 100+ in 1's tend to have very few unique games on them (not to mention the same 5-10 games common on multicarts).

For those relatively new to collecting multicartridges, I recommend purchasing multicarts with between 6-50 games on them, since they tend to have ported games from other systems, such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Sonic, Power Rangers, etc....to name a few.
