Bam Margera had better have a move to top "The Jackass." If that is fulfilled, then I am content.

Well, I'm a bit excited, but also equally disappointed. Ps2 will likely get online again while the Xbox will get a cleveland steamer. Laziness, laziness, laziness. Hell, MS fucking pays for the servers and they're too lazy to utilize them for online play. Anyway, I'm glad 720p support is returning and the soundtracks are always consistenly the best of the licensed stuff out there. I wonder what gameplay tweaks they'll add this time around? Honestly there's not much more they can do now, as skilled players can have insanely long combos already.

I'm really looking forward to this one... I've loved every Tony Hawk so far, and as long as THUG2 has new levels, frankly that would be enough for me! I'm hoping to see better create-a-trick mode though, hopefully allowing you to make your own grinds and manuals. I've always had a hard time making a convincing replica of myself in the game too, so more options in the create-a-skater would be nice too.

yeah idk, i had loved every Tony Hawk game in the past, but for some reason this one strikes me as cheap, and that it won't be good. we'll see tho, i'll prolly rent it.

THPS 2 is one of my favorite games for the DC and of all time - man I loved that game - still do. THPS 3 was boring, 4 was a flat out disappointment and THUG was more of an embarassment than anything.

My expectations are fairly low and to be honest I hope this is the last game they make in the THPS series. They've been pumping out a new THPS every year for six years, give it up! Take a few years off and launch a new title with the next batch of systems - that'd be my dream.

Oh well, at least this one has classic mode - which worked a lot better than the free skate mode they adopted later on.

No Live play has sealed the deal for me. I won't pick this up until it's bargain bin fodder a year from now. I won't support a developer on franchise alone when they're content to roll out minor improvements and not even give online play to the system most suited for it.

It has a classic mode? I may be interested...

I get too bored trying to find my missions...just let me play damn it, that's why I got sick of GTA III

I own every tony hawk except for thug 2. my biggest concern is why it is called thug2. i really liked the story concept of thug, but now it seems like they are straying away from that story.

all they needed to do was to make the story bigger with new levels and it would be a huge success. i seriously beat the game on te hardest level within a day. it was far too short.

now they have it so that, from what i am seeing, there is no "i am a skater that nobody knows, and i want to make it" deal going on, which was he original reason for them changing the name. what they should do is change the name to tony hawk pro skater 5, instead of thug2, because it sounds like you choose between hawk and bam, and based off of that, you do different things. from everything i have seen, it doesn't appear to have a "rags to riches" type deal. now if you can use your character from thug1, that would be cool. it would be like a "now that you have made it, what are you going to do now". but what about the people that don't own thug1 or have a save for thug1. it will suck balls for them, since they missed the story. granted, the story wasn't all that great, but i thought it was cool.

as long as i can upload my thug1 character, than i will be happy. if i have to start a new one without rags to riches, i will be highly disappointed, since the name went to thug because of the fact that it was like a rags to riches type deal in the main mode.

It's a marketing exercise, nothing more. That's why Bam is in it. (Look at the "in-your-face!" ads, for criminy's sake.)

THUG was at least different for having the story mode. Not different enough from THPS4 overall, but it was a nice switch. THUG2 basically turns it into Jackass: The Game, which is not what I had in mind.

Like others, I'll wait until it's cheap before investing any funds into it.

Too bad no one else wants to compete in the skateboarding game arena any more -- Thrasher: SK8 and Destroy for PS1 was an awesome and totally overlooked game.

This is one of the few games that I actually enjoy just screwing around in. I've had pretty much all of the Tony Hawk game beat thoroughly within about a week, and then just play free skate from time to time to chill out. I find that the challenges I give myself (ie, bluntslide this, then primo over to that ledge and noseblunt it) more fulfilling anyways. However, I've gotten to the point now where I've played THUG1 so much that the levels don't have many surprises left for me.

The whole graffiti thing should be cool though... like, trying to find obscure places to put your tag that you didn't think you'd be able to get to. Hopefully they let you do that kind of stuff wherever you want rather than having you restricted to specific tag spots like Jet Grind Radio did.

I have high expectations. The Tony Hawk series has been an excellent one, even if you're not a fan of skateboarding. And give credit to the series which at least attempts to try new things. Even THUG 2 breaks the mold of its predecessor.

I ordered it and am anxiously awaiting it.

i got it yesterday, i couldn't even believe how bad it was. i've spent so many hours playing the previous games, and loving them, but this one is just garbage. way too much empahasis on those godawful "find this" type of things, and far too little on the skating and skill aspects. i stopped playing after 30 minutes, and hopefully won't have to play it ever again.

I thought 4 was easily the best in the series, with the awesome level design of 2, combined with open-ended gameplay, combined with the great trick additions of 3.

THUG was a major disappointment for me. I hated the storyline (so boring), no online play for xbox, stupid missions, and poor voice acting. I was annoyed that I spent $5 to rent it for a week. I'll probably skip THUG2 altogether.

EDIT: And what was up with the driving game in THUG? that was just bullshit.
