Anybody know if they might actually work on a 2600 or 7800? They look like they might :-P . That alone would give me reason to buy!

I am inclined to claim they would not.. there's an additional button or two on them to select and start if I am not mistaken. Time will tell though, you can use Sega controllers on the Atari consoles afterall.

Not having a pause button on a modern console -- even for a old system like the 2600 -- is just unthinkable. :D

Aren't the Flashback controllers basically just 7800 ProLine controllers though? It wouldn't be that hard to just find an actual pair of them... not that they're all that great in the first place.

I think it'd be more a question of whether the controllers are hard-wired or not into the Flashback.

If they are, then it's a non-issue. If they aren't, then hopefully they will use the same pin connector as the 2600 and 7800. I sure wish it'd be the case, as I scrapped my old Pro Joysticks a couple of years ago. Playing on the 2600 with a Genesis controller isn't bad, but there are games that absolutely require a joystick, not a D-pad to be thoroughly enjoyable.

I saw them for sale last night at Target so I know they're out but at $39.99 for 20 games I wasn't about to touch that one with a ten foot pole. :eek 2:

From what I've heard, they're basically a Famiclone system (in other words, an NES on a chip) .
