Hey, hey, I get to start this thread this time! Woo-hoo!

Got two items today...

Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr. (N64)

Miner 2049er (Atari 5200)

I actually already had a copy of Miner 2049er, but that copy was just loose. This one comes with the box, instructions and even the warranty card. Very cool...

Miner 2049er (Atari 5200)

I'd be very interested in a loose miner 2049er ;D. As for me, I shall be hunting later today after some auctions finish up.

Well i popped into Computer Exchange today and pre-ordered a copy of Pikmin 2 (out on friday over here)..

Whilst i was there i picked up a complete copy of "Freak Out" the treasure PS2 game for £5..

Hmm.. Very odd game yet very entertaning..

A nice one for the collection..

Does anyone think it'll be a future rarity? You know what treasure games are like..

Joe. :)

Hellvin, feel free to make me an offer. That loose copy is one I actually outbid Zach Meston on a few months back... :D

BTW, it was just rereleased under Midas label. Fun game although it somehow feels a bit "incomplete".

Back on topic, another day with zero finds.

Well, it was on Sunday, but I found a weird N64 import call Neon Genesis Evangelion or something like that at a usually overpriced game store that had it cheap (I thought) for $10. Looks like a fighter or a shooter... the box is unclear. I'll try it tonight when I get home.

Cheers :D

You got Evangelion for n64 for that cheap? Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that goes for a pretty penny on ebay.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a anime series (very good as well! i love it!) so in my opinion, great find!

I was surprised to get it that cheap too since it's complete as well, but the box is in terrible shape (looks like someone farted on it and then left it in the sun and then rubbed the corners with sandpaper), the instructions are a mess, and the label has some doodling on it (stock number?). I have no idea how the box and instructions survived at all.

Still, it looks neat and I can't turn down an import N64 game that I might actually be able to play without understanding Japanese.

My luck of the day, I go cruising into a local pawn shop I haven't been too in quite a while, and he says Playstation games are 3 for 20 bucks. So looking through the stack, I find a complete Granstream Saga, Grandia, and lo and behold a copy of Layer Section II for Saturn (Import) and of course he assumes it's a Playstation game. Why in the world is a great import shooter for the Saturn in a pawn shop I don't know, but it's in my house now :)

well, I've heard of Evangelion before, but I don't know about the neon or the genesis except for the car and the sega console. I'm pretty new to anime. I just recently rented Ninja Scroll and plan on getting Ghost in the Shell my next go round. Perhaps I will learn something from the game?

Cheers

Neon Genesis Evangelion is the full title of the anime. Anyway, even if it is a bit beat up, I'd still say that's an excellent price for it. I don't have the game yet myself, but from what I understand, it's basically the show in game form. You watch a lot of cut scenes, fight the mecha battles, watch more anime, fight more battles, rinse and repeat until you get to the end of the story. Some people hate the game, others love it; there doesn't seem to be much middle ground. I imagine liking the anime plays a big role in how much you like the game.

Anyway, as for my finds this week, I finally dragged myself to the two Salvation Army stores near my house. One had nothing, the other had some overpriced stuff (a N64 without a controller for $10, a SNES with Mario Paint, mouse and pad, 3 controllers for $30, etc.). I bought:

Golden Axe complete, original version and very minty for $4.99
Parasite Eve II Original Soundtrack, official Tokyopop US release for $2.99

I don't even have Parasite Eve II yet, but seeing the soundtrack there was just too weird to pass up. I wonder how on earth it ended up at the Salvation Army. Same goes for the 3 sealed copies of some racing Dreamcast import I saw... o_O

£100. That's more than twice as much as I've spent on any one game in the past, but at least the rest of the Euro SMS games should be a cakewalk in comparison. I've sold a few NES/SNES/GX4000 games to recover the outlay aswell :)

Apparently not much of a find - $3 Shadowgate and Life Force @ Goodwill. Broke even there, but I didn't have the games before. Got a Myst for the PC as well.

Plus some Best Buy logo character plush from '99, it looks brand new and was apparently something for the staff. Yay!

$12.6X if memory serves. Got a book in there too. Meh.

Had to list this find, one of my best yet...

I walked into ebGames after a hiarcut, and walked over to the Clearance Game bin, sifting through, I found Ogre Battle 64. I thought I heard this game was sorta rare, and I heard it was pretty fun to play. Looked at the Price tag: 24.99 CAD. Figured "What the hell" and brought it up to the counter. The guy scans it, and asks me for something like 9 bucks. I was a little startled, but recovered and handed him a ten. When I got outside the store, I looked at the reciept, and it had listed on it some NHL game for 7.99. I looked at the back label that EB puts on the box, and it sure enugh said "NHL HOCK" on it. THe guy scanned the wrong label. Though tot myself, "Sweet" and quickly took off the plastic wrap on it, opened it up, and found a mint instruction manual, it doesnt even look opened. THe game case has some magic marker on it, but other than that I would say it is in nice condition. An R5 of the DP list for 9 bucks Canadian, gota love people who make mistakes :P

I think for any non sonic 2, 3 game you put in, it sends you to a weird minigame game.

Nothing this week. Last week (forgot to post this, sorry) I found Sonic Jam loose for Saturn.

This weekend I'm stopping by the flea market (which has a monstrous amount of game stands) so I'll post some more finds then :)

I snagged a copy of Second Sight for the PS2 for $20 new. Turns out that Meijer had mis-priced it, should have been $40. No haggling, they changed the price on the transaction and out I walked with it in my hand.

I intend on returning it unopened to a different Meijer store so I can exchange it for the Xbox version.
