Today at work, I sent an email to my Microsoft Account Manager. In ending, I asked if as an Account Manager she was authorized to give any little thank you gifts, and suggested that an XBOX live kit would be a very cool one.
This was later in the afternoon, and no response as of yet, what do you think my chances of getting this are.

A better question would be what are the chances in you sending it to me. :D
Ok, maybe not, cause with the holiday's in full bloom, it looks like I will have to wait till after the new year before I get on, just not enough time darn it. O.o

$4 Billion? Why, how much did he have before he lost some of it?

I believe his net worth is much closer to $30 Billion. I can't be 100% sure, but I also think that I read he has about $4 to $5 Billion in liquid assets other than his Microsoft stock.
Theres a neat little site here about his net worth due to his Microsoft shares:

stonecutter - I doubt it, but good luck :)

Let's steer away from the "Evils of Microsoft" and "How much money Microsoft has, how much they lost last year" for one post.
Stonecutter--I think the chances are low. Only because if they gave you one, they might have to give everyone an XBox Live kit and the only "thank you" gifts I've gotten from Microsoft are those damn lanyards. Although, in retrospect, Microsoft did give all the managers of the Babbages/Funco/Software Etc./Gamestop/Planet X full XBox's at conference.

I don't think your chances are all that bad.
My buddy who manages a Gamestop in Jersey has gotten lots of freebies from MS. In fact, they've been much more generous than Sony and a little more generous than Nintendo. Example: he got a free Xbox for attending a Gamestop manager's meeting, he's gotten several free games from their online training program, and he's obtained quite a collection of interesting memorabilia simply by asking nicely.
Good luck!

The online program...if you work in the Videogame department at Wal-Mart you can still participate. This part is open to everyone (who works in a videogame related retail field)

The company reps who come to my store sometimes leave promo items for the R-Zone workers and kids. My buddy who works there snuck me out an X-Box lanyard and Metroid Prime lanyard and the Metroid Prime/Fusion card also.
Joe, which Gamestop does your friend work at, btw?

He's in some mall in South Jersey. I'll ask him the name of the mall when I see him. And Portnoyd works in the Willowbrook Mall Gamestop.

Port works at the Willowbrook one? Kickass! I'll have to make a trip down there sometime with one my friends. This past weekend we went to the one at the Roxbury Mall.
