looks awful, but i will withold judgement until the game is complete. considering SNK/Playmore's current track record though... :o
supposedly they're going to continue making 2D slugs though.

Hmmm.....I didn't mention this last time this popped up, but I don't think all hope is lost. If the game takes a Gungrave-esqe approach to 3D shooting, then we're all in for a hell of a game. Anyway, I can't blame SNK for trying to appeal to a broader market. As much as I hate to admit it, most people don't buy 2D games anymore. Godspeed SNK!!!!

I am not going to say the game is terrible, cause it could be fun. But it definatly will not feel like a Metal Slug game. WIll kinda suck actually.
Metal SLug is one of those games that needs to be 2D, that is what makes the series what it is.
Reminds me of how with Army Mean Sarges War they tried to make a serious war game. I guess trying to attract older/newer gamers (?) Ended up sucking. :(

Since when were the Army Men games any good? I played through all of Sarge's Heroes for the N64...not much of a game, unfortunately.

I personally loved them but that's just a prefrence. You are missing the point of what I said. They took a series that had a cool theme/feel to it and completly tryed to change it. Which is what they are doing with Metal Slug.

It WILL NOT be metal slug, because its just not gonna be even close to the same, or even retain the feel of the greatness it was when it steps into 3D.
Metal slug is one of my very favorite series, and I have no problem saying this game will suck to no end. :angry:

Well atleast it will bring something new to the series. Besides, after playmore got ahold of the series they just started to recycle everything.

Yeah, I'll be waiting for the reviewers to piss all over it.
As testament mentioned, SNK/P was just recycling stuff...so I guess this puts an end to that. :o

Yeah, just like Mario 64 was right? x_x ... Anywho, I love 3D games (and 2D, 4D, blah blah) but the video of it in action is awful. The gameplay seems to consist of awkwardly lining up your enemies and throwing grenades. Ugh.

I agree, it does look kind of cheezy and not at all in the classic Metal Slug tradition... but you never know until you finally play the game.
