I would say it is authentic. It is the same as the proto that was on ebay a couple of years ago:

Yeah, I remember bidding on this when it was on ebay last time. I don't know why I bid so low (like 80 or 90) on it, but it ended up going very cheap... something like 100 bucks if I remember correctly. I don't think this will get any bids.. it's listed at what I would've expected it to go for years ago.

Right. The new pics were taken from a webcam. Anyway there's case pics now. The guy I got it from might have got it from another collector or maybe the original seller.
I don't know but I guess he should have taken pics since I heard no one thought it really existed. Heck that could even have been one of the game's US developers but who knows. I'd sure like to have got to speak to him.
