I have been collecting games for several years now...I'm up to about 1400. I realize that my collection fails in comparison to some others on here but the guy in this auction says that there are over 50,000 games for the 4 systems that he has for sale in this auction. I found it listed in the classified section on this site. Am I just missing something? I have a copy of the latest DP guide and I fail to find 50,000 games for any four systems. Could someone give me directions to the clue store?

Either he's pulling a number out of his ass, or he's considering all the foreign (euro, JP, etc.) games made for each system. Perhaps he's counting each game on a multi cart individually too. But regardless, 3DO, 32X, and GG have a paltry library when compaired to the NES so even counting all that, it might be hard coming up with 50,000

You're not missing anything!

Sega CD = 151
Sega 32X = 31
Genesis = 716
3DO = 182
NES = 834

Total = 1,214

I don't know how many games were released for Game Gear, but it's no where near 48,786! More like 200 I would think.

I sent him a very diplomatic email letting him know that I am very interested in knowing his resource for this info. We'll see what he says!!

Well...the guys name is Jared Weatherly. Here's what he had to say:

the item you were speaking about on ebay, i was talking imports,ect,everything..I am just a NES collector,not a Sega/ I was pretty much using sarcasm,becuz there is a shit load, and 50 thousand, would seem about right, imagine all those games in your head, it would look like a whole whole lot.

He still seems a little confused to me.....

Point him to this graph, which clearly shows that there cannot be 50,000 games for those systems by any wild stretch of the imagination.

Pshaw, I say.

Well...that's the thing. I found the auction here..... http://www.digitpress.com/index2.htm

under this listing....Genesis 32x sega cd with 33 games

so you'd think that he had seen it before. I think Achika is right by saying that he has pulled a number out of his @$$ :D

I guess it didn't make too much difference though....he still got his asking price of $175. The buyer has a rating of zero though. It would be interesting to know if he actually gets his money.

Here's another laugh....the high bidder was GAME_JUNKIE. In the upper left hand corner of the pictures on the auction page it says GAME JUNKIE!!!! Looks like he won his own auction!!! I wonder if he knows that ebay will final his account for that??? LOL

@DP: Did I read the chart properly and see that the PSX has more releases than the 2600 did? :o
Also, whatever happened to the original Gameboy? No count of carts was made for it?
