So a friend of mine used to play NHL 2K2 on the Dreamcast and wants to re-live those days again. He thought that NHL 2002 on the playstation was that same game. This led me to check my handy DP Advance guide.

I found that NHL 2002 for the playstation is an R1.

This led me to believe that it would be hella easy to find via the buying and selling forum, ebay, used game stores, etc. After calling all of the local stores with no luck, I turned to the buying and selling forum. I made a post and after two days still have not recieved a responce. Finally I checked ebay and could not find a single copy for sale!!!! Humm.....What is going on here? Is the DP guide wrong? Am I just an idiot?

Thanks in advance for the help,
-james

first thing, NHL 2002 and NHL2k2 are not the same, one is made by EA, the other one by Sega

about the rarity? well, i don't know, it should be easy to find on ebay but you've got to wait for the psx (us) experts for further info..

I have a feeling it might have been listed in error. I checked the normal sites to see if there was any mention of it (ign, gamestop, eBay, ebgames, Sony, etc) and can't find it listed anywhere. There's no part # in the guide, which implies that everyone researching PSX didn't have it.

Thanks for the info guys. I hope the proper database people see this and remove the game from the list.

Game was never released. 2001 was the last year for both Sony and EA's Hockey franchises. Doh!

DP Team PSX is on the job, will be fixed.

Thanks!

hydrox,

I've noticed your side of the world is very dedicated to hanging on to gaming systems as long as possible (look at the Master System game library...jeez!). Here in the US, it's newest graphics possible or nothing for local sports fans. ;)

Looking back, I noticed *a LOT* of the sports games came to a screechig halt around that 2001-ish period, sans the true multi-million sellers like Madden and Fifa. Considering the programming cut off point, makes you wonder if 2006/7 will be the swan song for most of the current gen system sports series.
