Don't forget folks, we've got a handy-dandy rarity/price guide available online for your pleasure. Wanna know how much that Bebe's Kids game is worth? Check the guide. Wanna know how much that weird-looking Air Raid cart is? Check the guide. :) (If you don't know where to find it, the link is right under your private messages link.)

No, it's not perfect, and no, it doesn't have everything (especially imports and hardware), but it's a great start and it's free. :) (Of course, you could also buy the guides themselves, but that's not-so-free ;) ).

Go on, take a look...it won't bite. :)

Two other resources...

Google (http://www.google.com)
You can enter the name of what you're looking for and find price guides online and you can check what stores are selling things for to at least get a reference for the price.

eBay (http://www.ebay.com)
Neat little feature, you can search completed auctions and find what something is "going for" at least on eBay. Highly recommended.

So, if you need to know "ohmygodwhat'sthisworthIneedtoknowquickquickquick!! 1!!one!!1!" try a little searching on the web and you'll probably have an answer faster than you'll get a response here.

Good call. All these 'How much is this game I just found worth?' posts can get very tiring very quickly.
THE ANSWER IS (usually) RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU PEOPLE!

I just wanted to throw in my general .. "It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it." It's alright to say, oh, this game is worth $X...but, if not one person in the world will pay that much for it, then its not worth that much.

Plus, I will agree with the Google / eBay reasoning....check there...and if you can't find anything then make a post about it.

And if *I* can then find it using one of those resources, expect public humiliation.

Or maybe even if I can't.

Nice sticky. These kinds of threads come up too much. The Rarity Guide link doesn't get enough love it seem ;D. Ebay is also great as it gives you an instant estimate of what you'd get if you....ebayed it.

What is the difference betwenn the online rarity guides and the book of the DP Price Guides?
I've always wanted to know this. I've never seen the actual price guides that you buy. BUT, I just purchased the advance guide a few days ago so CAN NOT WAIT until I receive that in the mail. (Would of bought it sooner but I am broke at the moment)

One is made out of paper and you can carry it with you. The other is online only. I'm fairly certain they also decided printing the DP guides would be too expensive if they used black paper and white lettering with red borders ;)

I've also heard that the online guide up updated somewhat regularly so it's probably a bit more accurate then the paper guide is.

i dont agree entirely with this rule. the only time i post a "how much is this worth" thread is when the guide fails me, like when i wanted to know how much flinstones 2 boxed was worth vs. loose. i dont see the guide answering that one for me .

And in those cases, it's fine. What I would do (Like I did with my AirBoarder 64 thread) is explain where I've already looked.

That's an example of an OK request. I think we'd all agree on that.

The problem is when people are just lazy and ask (or in some cases demand) values for things that they could easily find out with five minutes of research on their own.

So is this the topic where you post this kind of question then? Seems that nobody is using it for that so I guess I'll start.

How much is a loose Maxi 15 NES cart worth? I'm talking both DP and Ebay prices? How about Secret Scout too?
