I have one of the Tank Wars shown in the second link in your thread. I have never seen the one pictured in the first link. BIT Corp is a bit of a mystery, I'd be more inclined to believe that it's legitimate - a regional or chronological variant - than some kind of fake. Maybe someone else can vouch for it.

Nice pick up, I didn't notice that. According to the online guide (at DP I believe) there are some reproductions of this game by other companies. How does that affect value? Joe? Anyone? Willie?

For example, the Telegames version is listed at $15. What about the "Adam's House" repro? Any known distinguishing features about the labels for the repro?

Yeah, we need Willie's input. Perhaps he's all Bit Corped out after spending $450 on a couple of those carts. I wish I'd gotten a bid in on Meteoric Shower, although admittedly I'm that no super aggressive about getting those- too questionable.

I wrote the seller and she told me with great honesty:

'originally purchased them for my fiance from an online company called ecoleco. '

'Nuff said. These are ecoleco repros.

Aw shucks. I was hoping this was something more interesting!

Great detective work there!

I hope she has updated the auction description to reflect this info.

you know what is funny- why did ecoleco even bother to change the 'part numbers' on those games?
i wonder why they didnt just directly rip off the label...

the part number for cosmic crisis pictured there, is WAY different than the legit one

weird.

compare those two auctions and note that the cartridge casings are NOT identical, and the ecoleco label's "black" area does not look black. it looks like it was printed with a color printer onto sticker paper- it doesnt pitch a deep black.
i have noticed that same thing with other ecoleco games- the black area of the label is noticably lighter than the color of the cartridge casing.

But is possibile, for rarest game carts (atari/coleco/ecc.) with the actual technological instruments, to copy the original carts with
same aspects (carts/label/software..and then box/manual) ???
Someone buy there carts for $$$ money.

In this case of Tank Wars the difference from original is "clear" from the users that own the copies.

There is some other examples of games (atari/coleco/vectrex/ecc.) subject to crack/copy?
The copy of original games in cartridge form can be a propblem in future?

Thanks.
