View Full Version : Anyone Get SvC Chaos For Xbox?

I just got it a little while ago, played 4 matches online and I'm 3-1. woot! So far the lag is not bad at all, in only one match did I notice anything.

My only complaint is that you cannot rematch anyone. So if you do quickmatch or optimatch, it's one and that's it. But they do have something called lobby, where a bunch of people can just challenge each other. That way after you're done with a match, you go back to the lobby and can challenge the same person or someone else. So that's ok I guess.

My live name is buttasuperb if anyone else gets this.

I don't like the load times of the Xbox version. I think that I'll go for the Neo Geo AES version.

Of course, I picked this one up. I've been waiting all week.

I don't have live, so I can't comment about that. I can say, the com. is pretty freaking hard/cheap. Ahh well, It is making me better quicker.

I like the SNK take on all of this. I also would have like to have seen a few more characters to choose from.

I just picked it up yesterday with the strategy guide but haven't played it yet (too hard to put MK Deception down). I'm blown away by some of the characters you can unlock in SVC though. I had no idea that the alien from Metal Slug 3 is in it!

I think you are still on my friends list, butta. Next time you see me online, just send me an invite and I'll play you.

I wanted to get it for the Neo Geo AES, but to play people to me around the world at any time is much cooler. I think I will wait till this one is cheaper and then get it.

I'm a bit rusty compared to my arcade SVC days. I can't pull off Terry's Rising Beat when I need it, and didn't reach Athena.

I like SNK and all, but this game sucks. Easily their worst fighting game. Samurai Shodown Zero sucks as well. I was hoping it would be good too :(

there's no way this game is worth $50

I agree that this game isn't the greatest and isn't worth $50 bucks, especially when you consider GG on xbox was 20 and SF Anniversary is $30.

But SS5 is a fun game.

i keep hearing mixed reports on if SVC is any good...so what's the verdict? i've been on the fence as to whether or not to pick up the MVS cart, as i'm hearing opinions that are all over the place. while i'd love to have a little bit of capcom love on my MVS, $150 could buy a lot of other games. ;)

I have it on MVS and like it. It's flawed but fun and stylish. The character intros are pretty funny and it's challenging enough that I want to beat it... My other fighting games are KOF'94 and Waku Waku 7, so other than trying teh romz I don't have too much to compare it to.

If "a little bit of capcom love" is what you want you could do worse. I'm guessing that Last Blade 1 or 2, Garou, SamSho II or V, or RB Special or RB2 might be better purchase(s) if you don't have any of them.

Cheers,
Ben

I came VERY close to spending the $350 for this game when it initially came out for the AES, thank god I didnt do it. I have still yet to play it, but as the days go on, I care less and less. Can anyone confirm is Megaman Zero is a playable character in it? And what's the deal with this attack that I read about thats in the game that makes your character change sex?

Zero is in the game, and he's easily the best character. Broken AS HELL.

As for the girl-making move, it's one of Demitri's moves from Darkstalkers that made it into this. Girl Hugo is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a game

Yeah that would have hurt. Collecting aside, not many games are $350 worth of fun... The hidden characters like Megaman Zero do add to game tho. Dan is pretty funny...

i cant really see why people are saying this game is shit, because my local arcade has a machine of it, and its the only reason i go there, i cant even walk past the arcade without running in and playing it atleast once, i really like it. its hard, but so are most other fighting games for me because i suck. i will say the awesome power of terry in this game seriously pisses me off, but every game has its unbalanced characters. i would pick it over any of the street fighter alpha's anyday, i can say that. as for paying the $350 for an aes copy, i will eventually be doing this too, just got higher priorities, like samurai shodown 5 special and IT DOES NOT SUCK!

I don't understand why all the "fanboys" and/or "hardcores" have to get their panties all in a twist about how much SvC and SSV "suck". Some people hate SSV, and some people love it. I enjoy it and my girlfriend requests to play it at least once every other week, so it's a good game for me. Same with SvC - I enjoy playing it. I like beating up SNK characters with Ken and Akuma. I like beating up Capcom characters with Iori. I like being able to do these things on my MVS. Therefore, SvC is a great game for me. It's that simple. I don't give a flying fuck at a rolling donut who thinks what game is broken or flawed or whatever. A game can still be fun without being Garou. I wish some people would recognize that and enjoy these games for what they're worth.

... and if they're not worth anything to you in particular, then go play something else instead of crying about it. No game will please everybody. I think the GTA series is a pile of trash, but you don't see me raining on everyone else's parade. Sheesh.

SvC is fun, as long as you stick to single player, or don't play it with anyone who wants to get in depth with the characters in it. It's the 2 player game that falls apart if you put any time into a character to learn their good stuff.

As for Sam Sho V, I don't know why people hate it. It's one of the best fighters I'VE ever played...

No, it's when people play as Mars People or Shin Mr. Karate that makes it fall apart.

Besides that, it's been fun online.

BLASPHEMY!

but it does. imo of course.

they reused old backgrounds and made them look worse, some new characters are just sprite clones of other characters, the american release has no story mode, and its just not as balanced or fun to play as 2 or 4 (i like 4 the best).

And I can enjoy a game if it's fun no matter how "broken" it is, but SNKvsCapcom Chaos is messed up. I wouldn't spend $50 (and wouldnt even think of spending $350) for a sub-par game when i could get Capcom vs SNK 2 (its not perfect, but its a lot better than chaos) for cheap.

i liked SNK vs Capcom on the neo geo pocket.

I think that's it then...I've never met ANYONE who liked Sam Sho 4 AND 5. They either like one or the other. Personally since all I ever cared about was playing other people, I didn't give a shit about the lack of story, or the reused graphics, since, well, they all still look really good, and to be honest, so many sequels reuse graphics that it's not funny. See: Darkstalkers, Street Fighter 2, King of Fighters, Last Blade.

I heard Sam Sho Special puts it to serious shame, though-I just wish SNK would hurry up with the fixing of the bugged carts so I can see for myself. From what I've heard from people I've talked to from Japan, Sam Sho Special is arguably the best fighting game ever to grace the Neo, and at worst, is top 3. Supposed to be a paragon of good gameplay, as I understand it.

OH NOS NO STORY MODE!!

who cares? it's a fighting game.

I like both SS4 and 5. Maybe I'm the only one.

thanks, this is pretty much exactly what i wanted to hear - it may not be perfection, but the chance to get just a bit of street fighter love on my MVS without having to buy a dedicated SF cabinet is what i was after. :)

You're not. I like both as well.
