Cool idea, however...
i've seen people do that before and sell them on ebay.... but let me tell you, that one looks like shit. The others on ebay the people actually had a CDRom drive on it and also had the controller ports used as controller ports and you could use the nes controllers to play.
I'm not going to dog the guy though... it's way cooler then i could have done.

Yes, there are much cooler ones out there. If you dig about it on google, there's a guy (who I believe is the originator of this design/mod) and has a pretty good corner on the market. He has instructions on his site as well were you inclined to build your own. No CD drive = lazy.

I thought somebody was selling the NES prototype for a while. I guess not everybody's seen the gutted NES deal so far.
Personally, it concerns me that so many working NES units must be getting gutted for this (omg cart connector is bad! scrap the internals! ROLL TODD! x_x )

That does look cool but no cd rom is the lazy. Also you get 800 nes games with it!!! X_x I hate people that sell roms. Download them all day for all I care just don't sell them.

That is such a shitty job I would kick that guy in the nuts for wrecking an NES that way.

One of the guys that I work with is planning on modding a computer / NES like this, although a *lot* more complex. He doesn't want there to be any external differences and for there to be all the hookups the same (including controllers). He is planning on using a wireless keyboard / mouse combo.
He is even going to put the end of a SMB / DH cartridge at the end of the CD player, so when you open it up the console looks legit.
It's a pretty neat mod, I think. I think it would also be fun to do with an unsavable Genesis 2 / Sega CD 2.

I've seen ones that people have rigged so the lid pops up and the CD tray comes out. I also saw a supergun stuck into a SNES shell once too. Another cool mod I came across on the net was SNES MVS. Someone crammed a one slot MVS board into a SNES, and fixed it so the cart could go into it just like a normal game, very cool.

It's the computer that played through the last level of Doom 3 at 64fps, it's fast enough for you, old man.
that would also be an awesome comp to play the new Star Wars Galaxies Flight expansion pack on.

That one on ebay is one of the worst nes computers Ive seen. Too sloppy, doesnt have the cd rom coming out the front like other Ive seen, and doesnt have the controllers as a mouse like a few Ive seen.
Here is a better one:
