I recieved this question today. Is this a scam if so they got a new approach going that I haven't seen.

Q: Hello seller, I am interested in the immediate purchase of one of your item for my store in Africa for a sum of $200.But before i proceed with the making of payment i will like you to answer the following questions: *Do you ship to Africa? **Do you accept money order via bidpay now western union auction payment? ***will you receive release the item to us upon approval notification from bidpay now western union auction payment without exception? If your answer to each of the above questions is YES kindly get back asap with your name, address and as well as valid telephone number if any but dont bother to reply if you can not agree with my terms because the item is extremely needed. Best Regards,

this is on a ps1 system so this is a scam for sure so what do I do.
thanks for your help

Based on his request for you to send it as soon as the money appears to be in your account, and the fact that hes offering to pay 10x the current bid, im going say that its indeed a scam.

You could always have some fun with him and ask why he wants to pay 10x its value and why he doesnt buy a playstation in south africa. Really make him work for the "no im no sucker" answer youll eventually give (hopefully). :-P

I received the same email for a Neo Geo CD system a few months ago. I never responded (too fishy).

I never ship until the money order has actually arrived and in some cases I wait for it to clear. Too many problems with their service.

What happens is, the money order will not clear. So after you ship, about a week later your bank will take the money back out of your account. Then you have no item, no money, and one happy African.

Number one reason why I require anyone not in the US or Canada to pay for my stuff with PayPal. Yes, I can still be ripped off, but at least at that point it's the same risk as someone who is in the States.
