Hmmm. Anyone ever check out freecycle.org? It's sort of like craigslist, but only for people who want to give away of recieve free stuff. For example, someone will post a listing like "Offer - Old Ikea couch" , and the first person to email back gets the item free - but he must come and pick it up.
At any rate, someone on the local DC freecycle listserve was giving away a genesis and 14 games, but unfortunately I wasn't fast enough. The idea seems like a good one - it is designed to reduce waste and promote true recycling. It's also great to get rid of old items cluttering your house. It's worth checking out, if just for the fact that from time to time someone will give away some old games they have sitting in a box in the attic :)
