A new 'Surf Blue' GBA SP [Archive] - Retrogaming Roundtable

Looking in the weekly BB ad in the sunday paper, a big picture of the new 'Surf Blue' SP was staring me in the face. From the looks of the ad, its BB only, and has to do with the release of the Shark Tale GBA game. Its a pretty nice looking unit actually, I think its cooler then the cobalt blue system. Yeah I saw that in the sunday paper flyer...that game out of no where...not even announced...looks pretty good...So that makes it Special Edtion No. 142 or something? Gee, I guess GB colors are about as common as Pokemon games..

looks....um....blue....besides being a special edition on at BB...there is nothing special about it

little too much $$ for me to spend on something ill never use

if you dont have a GBA SP....then id say its a good idea

Looks pretty nice. When they are done making GBA SP's it would be cool to have a collection of all the different colored ones lined up on a shelf. If I didn't already have one, I'd probaly go with this one, the ruby red or Zelda version, it would be a tough decision.

Is it only available at BB??

I saw that this morning in the ad as well. Does nothing for me, don't really like the color.

The Surf Blue GBA is exclusive to Best Buy and has nothing to do with the release of Shark Tale. Nintendo made several special edition SP's and each is exclusive to a various store. For example, Wal-Mart is selling a "Who Are You?" SP and EB (and I think Gamestop as well) is selling a "Tattoo" SP. I'm probably forgetting a couple others, so if anybody has more information, feel welcome to add it.

Yeah I saw it in the back while I was working and was pretty surprised as I've heard nothing about it. It's like kind of cool, yet it's really not cause I already got my old cobalt ;D.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it had anything to do with Shark tale, but in the ad the game was right next to it, and 'Surf' kinda made me think it was. Just my speculation =P
